    Thanks so much for this video. I had trouble every time I would try to lite my logs. I was putting the pilot at 12 instead of 3 o'clock position. You are a life saver.

    Thank you so very much for posting this vid. Today I was determined to do this myself and not pay a plumber! A prayer and your vid saved my day! Blessings to you and yours.🙏🏽

    Video was super helpful. Our last home had a remote, the gas logs at our new house didn’t come with one. I feel like I’ve stepped back in time having to physically light my gas logs again after 20 years, Spoiled yes! Thanks for the help!

    This fire pit is one of a few covered pits that is on the list kzread.infoUgkxAU9pOCSV9Y5JprooHvfxTpOrt4hx8uRM of approved products for Disney Fort Wilderness. The product served its purpose well and provided excellent fires throughout the evening. We were able to open the door and do s'mores, but I had to be careful because the handle was a bit hot on occasions. Additionally, I wish they had replaced some of the standard nuts with lock nuts in some places. We lost the door handle after just a couple of days of usage. Not a deal breaker, just a recommendation. I still give it 5 stars.

    Great video, can I leave the main gas valve open at all times? If so, can I also leave the fireplace in the on position? I have an on/off switch as well that I would love to be able to just switch on/off to start my fireplace and not turning knobs. Thanks.

    I got it. Check if there is a wall switch nearby. You need to switch it to on.

    @@briaunamcknight-sykes7337 The wall switch? Just like turn on the light. The wall switch and the switch of the burner unit inside the fireplace actually form a series circuit, in my case.

    My pilot was on, nothing else was happening. I went to turn the blower on just to mess with it and theres a switch next to it. I flipped it and the big flames came on. Its new, Id never used it so I didnt know it had a switch. Does this switch shut off and on the flow of gas then? Also blower is on but it doesnt seem to be doing anything. I wonder if i need to unscrew and open the little trap door above the fire?

    Hi, is this natural gas? I installed something similar and the flame looks just like this but I am concerned about the "yellow tipping" that the manual talks about. is that considered yellow tipping? not sure if it is dangerous or not, it states that there could be carbon monoxide with yellow tipping. please answer, thank you!

    Ours has glass on the front but when we use the fireplace the glass gets super hot, are we supposed to remove the glass before using it? FAK-1500 is our model. We recently bought this house and don’t have manuals on this gas fireplace.

    I don't want to sound stupid but you didn't say turn the gas on or the fans/switches that might be associated with lighting a fireplace. I have had trouble with mine being, scared to use it because if you don't do it right the alarms in your house can go off. Somehow there needs to be a service where we are showed how to use these beneficial old tools that have been forgotten, a lot of people grew up with out alternative sources of heat.

    the lava rock should only be on the 3 sides of the burner (left right and front) Never on the burner itself

    All these other videos talk about having some battery back up under the unit, but the Superior DV 600 series doesn't have that with a wall switch power to the unit. Just curious does or if the unit will work if the power goes out?

    Lit my gas fireplace for the first time in our new house. Set off the smoke alarm but I didn't see any smoke? Any idea why or if this is normal? Worried now.

    If it is a vent free set then it could just be because there was dust on the log set and it was burning off that is why it set the alarms off. with vent free sets you also want to make sure that the logs are in the correct position. if they aren't then they set will malfunction and create carbon monoxide. the dust should burn away after 20-30 mins of use. If it is a vented set then make sure you have the damper open. Vented sets produce carbon monoxide and if used with the damper closed can be deadly.

    When it comes to a gas fireplace what does it mean when the flame is blue 🔷instead of gold 🔶🔥?

  • @JohnJohnson-sy7lp

    @JohnJohnson-sy7lp

    Blue flame means it is working properly. Gold/red means not enough air. Adjust the air shutters on it.

    you can light without power but the blower unit if you have one won't work, you will need a alternate power source.
