R.I.P CJ Snare from Firehouse.
We should have posted this a long time ago.
Unfortunately, CJ Snare passed away unexpectedly, April 5th 2024, but we still wanted to share this moment from April 25th, 1991 when Firehouse and Slaughter played at the Kalamazoo State Theater.
Firehouse have always been some of the NICEST guys in the music business - Perry Richardson, CJ Snare, Bill Leverty, & Michael Foster.
The Leonard they referenced at the end was my fiance at the time, Leonard Southall, who knew them all from the music circuit near Raleigh, NC. He passed away in 2002 in a motorcycle accident.
Yes, that is MTR's Laurie 'Withuh Bande' and Steve Losey is interviewing. I apologize for the bikini photo beside Bill's head, but we weren't thinking of how that would look 30+ years later.
So in memory of CJ, if you have friends or family you haven't talked to in a while, reach out to them. You may not get another chance.

OMG thank you, thank you for putting this up!!! SO happy that YT recommended it! It's been a horrible two weeks with CJ's passing... and I think I smiled for the first time.

I was at this show!! Great times, great band. SO bummed to hear of CJ's passing. His voice was one of the most distinct of the early 90's rock bands. Late in the decade, I shot the band in concert at a small bar in the middle of nowhere (Eckerman) in the U.P. called the Tumble Inn, owned by Chris "Godzilla" Doliber and Maxine Petrucci of Madam X fame. It was cool being the house photographer, all the Sprite or Coca Cola I could drink in exchange for my services.
