Bill spoke about this skit a few days ago and he said that the writers hated it and referred to it as “the firehouse incident!” And it’s where it got its name from. Jonah brought it up in a zoom call in the “Superbad cast Reunion” video.

@@ragilputram8875 It's pretty much throughout the whole thing but especially during the "shut up" bit at 1:56 and then when he hears about the show being cancelled, starting at 3:09. It's more noticeable on the second one but you can see him starting to smile whenever he stops screaming.

@@souio Inaccurate. Wiig, Poehler, and Armisen did a lot of heavy lifting in those years. Part of what made Bill Hader flourish was the skill of the rep players from 2005-12.

Don't worry he has many voices to fall back on. He is amazing !

Hearing Bill's normal voice, you would NEVER think that he could talk and scream in this super loud, high pitched way. Sure Stephon has a higher pitched voice, but this is WAY beyond that. Bill is a great talent. He can do it all, and is damn funny at it.

I remember seeing this sketch with my mom years ago on tv. We were laughing so hard, we couldn't breath for at least 20 minutes. Bill Hader is a national treasure.

I've heard Loren hates it when they break, but I swear it's always funnier when they do..... Like the “Debbie Downer” sketch they ALL break in that one & it's the best. Bill Hader can do no wrong, in my eyes. I've always heard that Horatio Sanz’ was let go over breaking in every sketch he was in.

This sketch is my entire memory of 2021. I was depressed and got real deep into SNL sketches and this is the one thing that always made me smile. Well done Bill Hader❤ I also loved the B... in apartment 23.

Here after seeing Bill Hader mention this on Late Night w/ Seth Meyers. He said he blew out his voice.

Bill Hader might have the greatest range I’ve ever seen in an actor, he goes from this to Barry where he is genuinely screaming with rage and it’s disturbing. Then you see him in interviews and he’s just a regular dude.

1:55 He screamed “Shut Up” 5 whole times in 10 seconds
