Also, even from watching his other videos you can clearly tell that he has a very nervous disposition. Recording in your studio and performing in front of camera's for millions of people are two ENTIRELY different things. I can't tell if this comment is saying he sounds bad or good. 😂 I'm a massive Owl City nerd but I will agree this is not his best, but this was several years afterwards, his vocal range isn't what it used to be. Plus, like others said, he had just had surgery

However many years later, this song is just as magical as the first time I heard it

That was the best summer of my life and the music from that time will always hold a special place in my heart

Man the band singing nd dancing to everypart of the song .. u can tell they are enjoying to be playing that song .

For the people who's saying he can't sing, try looking for his other live show. Maybe he wasn't well that day.

@@nawwk79 He may not have been the world's greatest singer when he first started out, but over the years he's gotten better and his range has improved greatly. Just listen to the cinematic tour. It's not perfect but it's definitely a huge improvement compared when he first started out.

Animal was the drummer in the Muppets.... Also the name of the Anti Nowhere League's frontman, who trust me, was anything but a Muppet, more an actual filthy foul mouthed and depraved animal 😂

please chill out and cut Adam some slack. I think he had just had kidney stones (which are, from what I've heard, REALLY painful), and was overall still recovering from some pretty rough times, so of course he's not quite 100% up to the standard he set in the official music video for Fireflies. Additionally, performing on the Today Show must be pretty nerve wracking!! Yeah, I admit that he was flat in parts and missed some notes. I've taken music classes for a few years and it's clear that this video could have used some improvements. But again, cut him some slack. Please leave some constructive criticism or not leave any comments at all, rather than flat-out state that he sucks. Put yourself in his shoes and don't just go around hating on people because they were nervous in a performance, 'kay?

Adam does not have to sound good live. This song was made by him alone. The other members are only there for the live performances. It’s more than just his voice which he tweaks when producing, it’s his brilliance of composing the whole thing together and is why it is engrained with positive memories for many people.

idk what everyone else is hearing but I am reading comments and like wtf? This is really good for a live perfomance. He hits all the notes, maybe stops notes sooner and not as embellished. But he does it. I am actually not an Owl City fan (not hate just haven't really but probably might be now) and only tonight I am looking at live performances of songs I like. This guy has IT. NOPE.

Two thoughts. 1) The Today Show needs to take lessons from The Howard Stern Show on how to mix a live performance. The mix wasn't good at all, and that's not Owl City's fault. 2) People are giving him a hard time for his singing, but I'm actually glad to hear him without autotune. He didn't do that bad, considering the situation.

He had destroyed his vocals over the years and needed vocal surgery back in 2013 I believe, along with this being his first live performance after having kidney surgery; AND THEN, the mix was terrible and the production was mediocre. His singing is definitely not bad. I saw him live in 2018, absolutely phenomenal performance.
