Yeah all the comment like the "pregnant women" one seem silly and a bit unprofessional. But as someone who was in an ambulance in big stress (wasn't life threatening but still bad) those comment really help you to stay calm, because when doctors and nurses are around you making funny comments the situation looks less serious and you can relax. And also it doesn't effect the nurses since they are really well trained and words don't make their decisions less profesional.

Remenber everybody: a car has flameble stuff inside. The puddle at 2.46 could be gasoline and people are standing in it. If you are at a crash, get every fireextinguisher out and ready even if there are no flames. It could save a trapped person from burning alive.

Good point, but the car had a severe frontal impact with a lamppost so it would be coolant and/or brake fluid. There was along skid mark leading up to the point of impact on a road that has only a 30 or 40mph speed limit. The air bag didn't deploy and the driver's head impacted the windscreen so probably not wearing a seatbelt. He's very lucky to have survived.

The airbag didn't deploy because it's more likely part of the faulty Takata airbags that used ammonium nitrate that failed under damp or hot conditions and if deployed it could have sent shrapnel into this person's head. Up to 2.9 million vehicles on the Uk roads have been fitted with faulty airbags with 900k still needing to be recalled, so please check your car to see if it needs an airbag recall.

The US really needs to bring their EMS into the 21st Century. Some cities have world class paramedics, while in other parts of the US citizens only have EMTs with a few months training to crew ambulances. In countries like Australia, Ireland or the UK ambulance services are pretty standard nationwide. Not really, if you think about it. If they send a doctor, it's probably because you're already in a very bad way. If I had 999 called for me, the last thing I'd want to see is a doctor.

No body talking about my great uncle who got flattened by a semi truck on i85? He was unidentified and his wife was driving behind him the whole time, both going to Virginia. The car was about 1 foot off the ground when smushed. Crushed… they couldn’t find his full body. And his wife was now scared for life…

I was an EMT and combat medic. I'm going to say that you definitely show more humanity in Britain than here in the U.S. . But were pretty damn close to another civil war,so....

Well, in the U.S. if two people have different religions, political ideologies, and viewpoints it means one person is "an idiot" and the other person is "100% right and no one can change their mind". It's an intolerance to difference creating the divide and its so stupid.

Two things immediately caught my eye: 1. Everybody and their bloody dog is standing off to the side and gawking. At least one lady appears to be filming. WTF is wrong with people?! Seriously! 2. The vehicle seems to be leaking oil or gasoline or some other substance. As soon as the fire brigade is on scene they should be standing by with a line or at least a fire extinguisher. Which, to be fair, they probably did but it was out of view in the show and blocked by the vehicle. Also, nobody is wearing a mask during the "convertible treatment". Glass dust is really less than amazing for your health if you breathe it in. And there is going to be loads of glass dust when sawing through the wind shield. I am a VF myself. Not too long ago we were called to an RTC where a car had flipped and landed on top of a guard rail. Driver and passenger survived almost unharmed, save for being understandably rattled. Driver had a broken shoulder or something. Still a miraculous outcome considering what the car looked like. Modern engineering is amazing - there was not one bit of metal that wasn't ripped or severely bent and there were several parts ripped off the car, but both people survived and could climb out of the car under their own steam. Did you know brake rotors can shatter, or that trailer hooks can get bent 45° to one side? That said, some motorcyclist had taken it upon themselves to filter through all the way to the front to stand there. Not sure if they took pictures but one of the police officers on scene was not having any of that. He had a little chat with that person who is now facing a fine of several hundred bucks and possibly a two month suspension on their license plus a buttload of penalty points. And that is letting them off easy IMO.

Folks PLEASE don't try to get people untrapped from their car unless it's on fire. They may have injuries you can't SEE and you could make worse. Just wait for the professionals.
