The beginning of her story sounds like mine. I scored high on the ASVAB and secured an Intelligence job and TS/SCI at 17. Cannon AFB, New Mexico was my first duty station & I was there for 5 years, most of my enlistment lol. I was actually there when she was there!! I purchased my first house there at 21 too lol. Now I'm 25, working in the DMV area as an intel analyst, making the GovTech transition. Youre both a huge inspiration! Thank you for this, Symoné! Thank you, Huralain! Maybe ill be featured in one of these sit-downs one day lol
For clearances, I always recommend folks applying to physical security jobs with gov contractors. Thats how I got my TS a few years back.

Even for jobs in tech? Or do you apply to those before transition to it
@verympressiv

@@Playerz714 correct, the security job is what gets you your clearance. You study for certs/ upskill while you’re waiting for your clearance to process. For any company that contracts with the federal government, the clearance can get your foot in the door in tech. This is exactly what I did.

Make your dream resume and work up to it. That’s great advice!
been on a "beez" binge for the past couple weeks love your vlogs!
Beez is doing a great job for the community!
I’m about to dive into cyber security, this helped a bunch , and I’m about to lock in and study everything you ladies discussed
I work for a big 6 consulting firm on the business services side and we’re told we can expense any and everything for people working on gov projects. Those fed contracts are in the millions.
Huntsville native checking in, people are flooding here now.
Hitting me with gems left and right only 15 minutes in! Beez the goat fr🐐🔥 I LOVE the dream resume idea!! Huralain's advice was so resourceful.
Bless you for making this . I’m a vet and my clearance expired . I actually gave up on dod jobs because of this . I didn’t know this was possible .
Love seeing my sistahs doing their thing ❤… my brother is in tech and has a beautiful life and family. I’m retired (law) and exploring different fields as a second gig. Love this.
You really don't miss! Day In My Tech Life my favorite series right now. Huralain is incredibly intelligent, another great episode 🔥

Great interview! I like how she utilized the military to get training and experience to help jump start her tech career. A young person can do 3-4 years and pivot to the next level.

Loved this amazing interview. Very inspiring.
Now this interview is very insightful! A lot of jewels were dropped in this one keep it going!
One of the best interviews Beez!! This is very actionable advice to any beginner looking to hit the ground running and get their foot in the door into cybersecurity. Im currently in Help Desk at the moment been at this MSP for 8-9 months now looking to break into cyber in the next year or so. Looking to grab the CCNA + AZ-900/104 then security plus to solidify everything from a security baseline. Thanks for all of the knowledge that you share on the TL and on KZread!! Also thanks to Huralain on sharing her story to inspire other minorites like me to get in the field.
I agree with her on the military! The military will sometimes fund your security clearance and because a lot of companies outside wouldn’t want to put in the money to pay for your clearance and that makes your job searching opportunities a lot easier in the civilian sector.
These videos are so inspiring. I’m not even into tech and it makes me want to learn it. 😂 TY for sharing so much. My hubby is interested in Tech.
I went to AIT at Gordon with Huralain. Happy to see her doing well!
Thank you for sharing!
Real game within the 1st 10 minutes. I have been at many of these companies myself to include Vectrus/ITT/Exelis depending on how old you are. There are many American contractors living in various countries over the years making money and gaining valuable experience.

Great interview, alot of information to research. thank you
I love this series! I'm not sure if I can qualify for a government contract though
I throughly enjoyed this interview! She’s the truth!
She is gorgeous!
Usually 2.5 times to 3 times. If you make 200/hr then contractor is charging 200x2.5 = 500 to government
" as soon as I feel like they don't value me I'm out" PREACH!!!!
I see that you have your blueprint guide posted. But will you go back and do the class for those who are ready to get a job? You did a class for $100 that went over those specific things. When are you going to do that again? Or are you just going to do the more expensive programs moving forward?
GovTech is definitely NOT layoff proof. Contracts get defunded all of the time.
@OS24021
7 ай бұрын
Most contracts do not. Remember these are legal documents and laws from states & federal are geared towards the consultants/contractors being paid on time. If a contract gets political, the agency may enter litigation to pay the contractor/firm a settlement to dissolve the contract.
@harrystaley3289

@@OS24021 You are absolutely wrong. It just happened to me working for a defense contractor. Working in acquisitions in prior life it definitely does happen contracts end, options years don't get funded, incumbents don't get past the re-compete, you are definitely not recession or issue proof. This happens even with higher level clearances.

Always advocate for yourself! That's the main thing, these companies will try you.
Wow big coincidence I’m active duty navy stationed in Guam and I go to WGU lol shout out to her and WGU getting my B.S in Cyber there
I live in NM and don’t want to be here, but this job is keeping me here now! But it is a decent place to raise your children.
If you see this could you please interview a vulnerability scanner? Or if you've done that do a video on it.
My thing is I am 44 and I am just starting cybersecurity!! I am in school for cybersecurity, I hope I am not too old to start!! I still feel young and have the drive and desire to start in this industry

Could you start listing the people you interview information below? it'd help a lot!
This was my problem, I got the trifecta through a workforce program and went right into Help Desk, I only had my A+ when I got hired but got my Net+ and Sec+ while working help desk
Amen 🙏 God bless you keep making it that’s the true dream
Huralain is so fine!!! omg what a beautiful mind!!! $650k sheesh
This is so inspiring. I also went into the military as a 25U at 18 years old and got my Bachelors in Biology Pre-Med. I just finished up my Masters in Public Health Informatics which has introduced me to a little coding using Python and R. I am now looking into going the cybersecurity route, maybe in health care. Do you have any advice on how I can get started? I just got accepted into a cybersecurity certificate program at North Carolina A&T but I am seeing so many people go Cyber without going back to school. Anything input helps and thank you for all of your content!
Wow!
Nice interviews but do you have or are you planning to make content for the private sector?
I am a Navy vet currently in Killeen finishing my senior year for my bachelor’s in IT. What advice do you have for a veteran wanting to be in network security or cybersecurity in general?
I'm ready to go to New Mexico!!!

If you are submitted to a clearance by a potential employer and do not pass, are you able to reapply in the future or are you marked as not eligible for clearance?
DAMN!
i am in Ghana with a background in digital forensics and cyber security, I am interested in immigrating to the USA
Splunk baby!!! Love all my Splunkers!
I see the Van cleef…they’re not playing
