The amount of options in the Edit Mode makes my head spin. AND IT'S ONLY EARLY ACCESS! I do love the cleaner, more organized layout too.

Love this video. I love this game, it's so addictive. I’ve been playing FPW World and FPW D on my iPhone to get my fix wherever I am (and posted a few videos of iphone gameplay). Amazing that you can play such amazing games on your phone. I haven't even picked up WWE 2k22 in weeks. FPW rules

I remember when my friend and I heard about this game with the rumors and all. We saw a photo of fire pro returns and I said I think I have this we went looking for it in my house and we found it. When we played it we were like what the heck is this how do I play. Eventually we picked everything up and figured it out. From there on then we renamed all of the licensed wrestlers and all. We enjoyed the game so much that it scratched that deathmatch itch that we had at the time

Can't wait for ps4 release, the gameplay in this series is fantastic. Good review thank you!

the question now for the ps4 version how will imports work? At least with FPR you could use a game shark and on the ps3 a USB to transfer data. i wonder if you'll be able to do this on the ps4. i love Fire Pro and I'm sure my laptop can run this but i really would hate to play this on a pc but i will if i must

Yes, and Yes. ;) They are planning on adding a custom themes/BGM option for the PS4, (the PC version already has that feature) and in addition to the created wrestlers you can also create/download referees, rings, and title belts. The arena/ramp cannot be edited however, unless you have the PC version and a fan created mod.

Love the Fire Pro series, my only criticism is the AI randomness. I mean for a game which prides itself on the AI logic half of the moves in match don't make any sense. Fire Pro at it's worst means you have a knock down drag out match and the finish? A mere slap..... At it's best though think the finish of Stone Cold vs HBK @ WrestleMania 14 - blocks the sweet chin music turns it into a Stunner for the 3! Nice to see a combat sport game not include stupid on screen mini games for pinfall and submission escapes!!

This would be super dope on the Nintendo Switch! Sweet vid!

Cornshaq covered most of your questions in his review. It's very similar to FPWR, but has the addition of the New Japan roster, and almost unlimited created wrestler slots. There are some small improvements, like a dedicated button for pins, and a few new moves. There's also some new story modes, and even an upcoming management mode that lets you book matches and organise your own promotion.

Since my original review a lot of updates have happened new moves added, and plenty of new features and soon they are adding the booker/management mode so you can book cards for your fictional wrestling worlds. The PS4 version is also fully in development since the game left Early Access just recently. If the booking mode is good I would bump this up to the 10/10.

I'm a fan of old WWF and WCW form 80s and early 90s. I used to love games like Wrestlefest and some of the 90s era WCW games. I've tried playing some of the more modern wrestling games and not for me. I'm wondering if this is the game I've been dreaming of? I'd never even heard of it until this afternoon when I was on steam and I think I might take the plunge and buy early access. Thanks for the review!

This may need you to do a lot of work, but. Read up on Virtual Pro Wrestling 2, read up on PJ64, read up on the Fully English mod. That game has all the moves from all of WCW, and WWF, it's just in edit. The game is just too perfect. The mechanics are too perfect. Fire Pro seems ages behind it graphically, it may even be as great as far as gameplay, but VPW2 is so old, but better. It's a shame AKI never made another wrestling game since. And no developer has used their engine. There are already made edits for VPW2, with the faces and outfits from WCW/WWF. I may end up trying Fire Pro, but VPW2 is just too good, it's hard to look at these almost 2D graphics after, and that's in 2018! kzread.info/dash/bejne/X4doz7WQiLmnfJs.html

I did try it, the gameplay is limited compared. Besides, VPW2 reacts to what you do, you work on the leg, the guy is limping, he's very tired and limping, put on the finisher. This one is behind in gameplay as well. The only thing it has is it's current, and has community edits easier to add, that's about it. It is the best CURRENT game, but not the best you can play on PC...

If you are a fantasy wrestling Sim player, then this is the game for you. Ive been playing FPR at least once a week since 2008. This game comes out in August.

I simmed a match between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield and Tyson lost within the first 20 seconds of the first round. Not only that every time I simmed Connor Mcgregor and Floyd Mayweather Mayweather won almost every time.

There was a story mode in a few of the PS1 and Dreamcast Japanese games

glad to see this series again, been a fan of the series since NES. a bit disappointed there's no career mode like the one they had on SFPW3. and the wrestlers models, moves, movement are pretty much exactly the same as Returns... maybe i expect too much after all these years, but overall a decent game, more like a Returns 1.1 w no surprise.

Bear costume is in the game by default you can create your own or download one of many that have been uploaded to the steam workshop and I am sure will be uploaded to whatever download system is on console.

So I just preordered the game today. I really hope I like it? Oh well if I don't I can get a full refund. I'm pretty "tight" with the Gamestop manager ;) I really need a new wrestling game, because I no longer play the WWE games. Hey! Easy to learn, tough to master. There is a tutorial mode that teaches you everything you need to know. :)

+Ronald McCauley yes it will hut not the same ones since Sony doesn't have any sort of cross play between PC and PS4 plus the tech of steam is different however they are going to do something similar for the ps4 version mostly likely something similar to what WWE2K does with community uploads.

Once again no type of career mode. Hell I'll even be happy if they give us a basic ass career mode like the one in WWF Attitude. I love the Fire Pro Series. For example - guys like Heath Slater or Flash Funk. *Worker*: usually a talented mid carder, who rarely get pushed but also don't lose matches all the time. Notable for being good to work with, hence the name. Guys like R-Truth, Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, and Goldust would be considered good workers.

the roster is limited to your imagination only mate you can download almost every wrestler that ever wrestled in big leagues and if the logic is well done they even behave like these certain wrestlers you can create what you want and you can make spongebob the new wrestling ace

keep in mind doing all those mission matches give u more edit points so they are kinda limited if u dont play yourself and all downloded caw´s have their priority settings messed up and need manual redo till there is a fix. have fun!

The wanted to include the option for custom entrance/ bgm themes, which Microsoft do not allow on the Xbox. That's my theory as to why it hasn't been ported to that system. The Nintendo Switch doesn't have a large enough hard drive for all the edits.

Nope. :) I want to be able to download/make every WWF wrestler from the 80s, 90s, and 00s, plus all the other promotions like WCW, ECW, Impact, WOS, etc. That's well over a thousand wrestlers. Add in fictional characters like Zangief from Street Fighter, and my own creations, and I'm looking at approximately 3 times the number of edits that FPWR allowed us to have. :)

That's true of most video games, especially wrestling ones. FPWW still has more depth than most of their competitors.

Tho, though, though, tho, though, tho, though, though, though though, tho tho tho. I've lost count of how many times you said "though" throughout the entire review.

I think I’ll get wwe 2k19 instead. This game lacks smooth animations and has only one camera angle. It basically would have looked pretty good in 1994 but more is expected in 2018. I loved the nes version back in the day...

I wish it didn't have that low FPS, jerky animation that makes it look like an iOS game from the Apple Store...

They should try and add some sort of GM mode, since 2K wont bring it back to the WWE games. GM mode makes wrestling games have so much more longevity

Let me give you my thoughts on fire pro wrestling I looked into the game and it looks it looks corny it looks like it's an arcade game that would be no fun at all I'd rather like play my WWE 2K 19 that would be way better than firepro because he'll don't look weak and they're too small fire pro wrestling I think would suck so I'm glad I look into it but I wasn't impressed enough to buy the game so that's like fire pro wrestling come on I mean

Bruh why is it so hard to make a decent wrestling game. The N64 WCW WWF wrestlemania games are still the greatest of all time. It's sickening that fun wrestling games are an impossibility. I can't stand these 12 year old looking indie D-bags. I wanna have epic macho man king kong bundy type matches.

the graphics are offputting and IMO really terrible.

I really don't get the hype behind this series. Visually it looks like a GBA game, the animations are jittery and the action looks slow. And there's not much you can do in terms of female wrestler body builds. I just really don't get it.

You can increase the speed in the options. The look of the game is deliberately retro. You either appreciate that art style or you don't.

Those are all fan creations. WWE can't sue the developers for characters they didn't put in the game. Besides, the 2K games do exactly the same thing with their creation suite.

No career mode = NOT the best wrestling game ever made like sooooo many fanboys keep saying it is. That is the #1 defining feature of what is or isn't the best wrestling game of all time, and this game completely lacks it.

This was the best 20 years ago. Now they just rehash it every few years and add current wrestlers. There was a story mode in the PS1 and Dreamcast japanese versions back in the late 90s early 2000s. This looks exactly like Fire Pro Returns. So, nothing much new here.

DeadlyDanDaMan Is it the best? Probably not the best but what it lacks in story it makes up in deep customization and solid gameplay. It's gameplay and customization options are probably one of, if not, the best in any wrestling game period. It's a damn good game and hopefully it does very well. If you like the old school arcade like wrestling games like No Mercy, then you will probably like Fire Pro.

They are adding 3 career modes. Mayve next time you should wait until the game is fully completed before judging it
