Oli said that This song is actually is about our relationship with Mother Nature and how abusive it is. It’s basically a love song between the earth(Amy lee) and oli. I loved ur reaction man. I think this song is straight up 🔥 🔥🔥

Amy always gives me goosebumps, but Amy & Oli’s voices together is next level. 🔥🔥

Some people said before, but this is a ballad from the point of view of mother nature (Amy Lee) vs mankind (Oli Sykes), which you can note in the verses "You know you can't breath on your own" meaning we can't live without nature, hence the last butterflies being metaphorical since we "extinguished" the butterflies in the story they're telling, and also "hunting you own house" since we hunt and kill nature that is, at the end of the day, our one and only house. Oli here is showing AMAZING lyrical and vocal performance. This is one of my favorites from the EP and definitely up there in writing with Hospital for Souls and others like them.

In my opinion it's sad how nobody in any reaction I saw mentioned how Oli has improved his singing, like, screaming is good and all but when it comes to actually sing its not easy for every metal musican and Oli has improved a lot since That's The Spirit. If we pay attention to the intro in this song we can notice how Oli does some vibrato in those "uhh uhhh" and even some melismas, same when his part comes in, I'm so impressed and so proud of his progress in singing and overall, this song is 🔥

He recently said that Amy pushed him through his sounding in his singing voice, that he learned a lot through the experience of sending back to back voice notes and calling each other, videocalling each other while recording this song and both putting themselves into the sound and lyrics. He said that if his 14 year old knew he'd be working with Amy f*ing Lee he'd faint, but he's glad he had the experience with such a big talented singer/songwritter as her. I didn't quote him exactly but you get the idea.

You got it right in the relationship sense. Its about how humanity is wrecking the earth. Amy is mother nature, Oli is humanity. Song is AMAZING. This was their compromise BTW. Evanescence was going to sue BMTH for a sound they used in their song, but she instead agreed to doing this sing with them. Hence she's the lead and sound in the song ❤️❤️

Amy represents "mother nature" and Oliver represents us.

Fall out Boy's titles are faaaaaaaaaar longer, believe me ahah

I'm so guttered i didn't get to see your reaction when you figured out it was about mother nature and humanity, it changes the whole emotion of the song to be even sadder with lines like "Haunting your own house" and "the only butterflies left will be the ones in your chest" and "you know you can't breath on your own"

Same,I didn't know the meaning to this song for a while, but when I did 😱😱 it blew my mind, and wish people would actually take notice 🤣🤣 yeah I know I'm funny, like that's ever going to happen. People are dumb, Inc myself, the saying, you don't know what you have until it's gone, well in this instance nothing else comes close, because when we've wrecked this beautiful planet, it's fucking OVER! But, let's just worry about that another day right 🙄🙄

When you mentioned Amy Lee and Olli's vocal harmonies together I just scream YES YES YES I completely 100% agree that they sound beautiful even when she overpowers him. You know that's amazing vocals.
