I am so glad this channel gets to see the amazing queer talent in this film, not just Joel Kim Booster, but also Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers. Every queer actor in it is a treasure and I'm thrilled we live in a time where they get to live in these characters and still be hugely successful. It has become a comfort watch kind of movie for me. I have watched it at least a dozen times since it was released and I love it so much.

Petition to see Bowen Yang in dramatic roles. He did a good job here.

this is one of those queer movies that’s made by queer people for queer people and it’s beautiful to see

I wanted to see a gay Jane Austen adaptation and I’m happy to see it in my lifetime.

If you're into books, there are actually sooo many queer adaptations of Jane Austen books! I've read 2 queer/trans adaptations of pride and prejudice itself. So good! Just in case anyone is interested! :)

Joel Kim Booster wrote the movie.... almost ALL the actors and director Andrew Ahn are gay and also Asian. Conrad Ricamora(the Mr Darcy role) is a very popular TV/Broadway actor, also gay.

Here's a note: “Fire Island” in _Fellow Travelers_ is actually on Lake Ontario, and not the actual island itself (the show was produced mostly in Canada).

Even though it didn’t win the Emmy like we hoped it would, everyone who made the film is a winner in my eyes.

There are so many wonderful things about this movie, but I think Will chucking the ice cream has to be at the top. It never fails to make me laugh. I actually had the fortune to meet Conrad Ricamora in person and he was so incredibly sweet ❤

Ok, I was just wondering recently what an atrocity it was that you had not reacted to Fire Island. It's like one of my fav queer comedies ever. I love the Jane Aisten theme and honestly the protagonist was perfect for the adaptation.

OMG! Yes, I hated the music at fire island (pines). DJ Susan Morabito was always there when I went and I didn’t go often. I wasn’t a fan of hers. I had to go to cherry grove for better music. From what I can see the movie doesn’t cover the two very different areas. Cherry Grove had a more ethnic flava. I don’t know how it is now but even with the “buffet” it’s a pretty amazing place to see….and boys keep up with your channel. I’m so looking forward for more. 😊

This film was so good in many ways but I didn't enjoy it for reasons I still cannot verbalise 🤔

Fire Island has several communities on it. The Pines is mostly gay men; this is where this film was shot. Cherry Grove - mostly lesbian - is the next community over, separated by The Meat Rack. There are wild deer on the island, so ticks are prevalent. You’re told to stay on the paths, and avoid going thru the bushes, where ticks reside. People have gotten Lyme disease there for not adhering to the rules. Love Fire Island, but it does bring out the bad side in a lot of the gays. The NY - LA - SF gay communities are very different from one another. Even the six main lgbtq+ vacation destinations in the US are very different from one another as well. Hope you guys can make the circuit one day. BTW, I wasn’t a fan of the movie. Am staying away from BROS, as I can’t stand Billy Eichner, nor can, it seems, the majority of the gay community. He’s more than annoying.
