Are you required to respond code 3 to every single call? Here dispatch tells us whether theres injuries or not which determines our response tactic. if its a confirmed fire: structure, wildland, vehicle then its code 3 but if its an MVA non injury then its no lights or sirens. I geuss it depends on the call and department response preferences?

No definitely not every single call. So in this case, a truck towing a trailer blew out his front tire, and smacked the center wall hard enough to push the wall into the opposite lane of traffic. This created 2 hazards. The truck involved plus the wall in the dead of night. Our engine went to scene along with SFD Truck 2 and car 5102. Truck 2 almost struck the wall because it wasn't easily noticeable till damn near on top of it. I jumped in our rescue truck (5188) and went code 3 down preston in order to get on the south bound side so I could shut down that lane before someone hit the wall. 5132 was first on scene if I remember correctly. I can't remember who labeled it as a non injury enroute. Alot of times the call maker will say non injury than a few minutes will pass then theu start to complain of injury. In this case, even if non injury all responding units were code 3 until canceled or on scene. First unit fire unit on scene will know the true level of the incident to make the determination. PD has been wrong to many times in the past. If PD and EMS cancel us, nothing we can do at that point
