Out of curiosity, why was the first clue that there was a fire seeing the smoke coming out of the door? Aren't they supposed to have smoke detectors?

As a coast guard veteran. The worst thing that can happen on a boat is a fire 🔥 . Would recommend drills and training

In a time of action he followed a protocol. First thing was head count. Second thing was fined him. Third thing was to rescue him. Then he put out the fire. If he would have put out the fire beforehand. Hes surely would've lost the young man. Tragics happen all the time down below. You punch A CO 2 line. You will drown if you don't get out of there. First and foremost rescue the crew. Then you're floating island. Then you might wanna check on the captain?

That was close too close. If Keith did not flood the bow with halon the crew would be dead and he would be calling Hong Kong to the Coast Guard to rescue him. Fire sank the Western Venture and almost sank the Saga thats the last thing you want on a boat every vessel in the Bering Straits before Big Valley sank went down because of fire.

Terrible situation

This used to be a great show before they started to do stuff like this to maintain what little steam this show had left. I mean shouldn’t the smoke alarm come before visual notification?

I love they pull the pots and there's 10 in the pot. Then the camera moved and goes back there's 70 so fake. Anything to get people to watch.

I don't think I've ever seen a more obvious set up,,,, for TV

Sorry buddy, no. You don't set fake fires on a boat. You also don't intentionally almost cause smoke inhalation on someone for a show.
