Fire alarms hacked to play mario brothers theme

This is a simple hack to a fire alarm to make it play pretty much anything you want.
One of these fire alarms use a speaker (similar to a speaker that you would find in the earpiece of an old rotary phone), the other uses a massively large 2" piezoelectric disc (I've never seen one that large).
If you simply follow the positive lead on the speaker or piezo element, it will lead you to a transistor that is driving the speaker. On both these units, the base of the transistor (use the datasheet for the transistor to find out which one is the base) is tied to a resistor, which then leads to an IC. The IC outputs a square wave signal to make the fire alarm sound.
On both these units, I cut the link between the IC and the resistor. I then tied a microprocessor (in this case, an Arduino atmega328) right to the resistor. I made the assumption that the resistor value to the transistor was good, since both ICs on each board output a signal at 5 volts. I also assumed that if it was good enough for the circuit's IC, then it's good enough for mine.

Anyone can take and play this song through a fire alarm speaker/strobe, but I give this guy a lot of credit. He's making horn/strobes, which are only supposed to make the sound they have programmed, play this song by putting on a microprocessor. Who would have thought of that? Haha, great job!

this specific alarm is a system sensor mass it has a different horn go look up system sensor mass it will look different strobe will be bigger look up all tones on the system sensor mass

The school I go to uses Cerberus Pyrotronic fire alarms.
I know this would be cool for school but kids would pull the alarm just to hear it. via causes the fire department to come to your school when nothing is wrong

Yeah but any coding other then temporal 3 is not allowed to be used in buildings (although voice evac systems can use other sounds like slow whoop)

@@captainchris2016Temporal code are for systems for places built from 1996 or later or replacements/additions. Some systems can use continuous only if places are built before 1996 and it is grandfathered into
