I absolutely love Eskimo Callboy, because they are the complete package for me. I always love musician who don't take themselves too seriously, experiment with different genres and show a sense of humor in their music, but often, those bands and artists are often not the most talented musicians and they use the humanistic elements to stand out that way. With Eskimo Callboy, that's not the case. They do stand out with their humor and unique combinations of genres, but their musical skills are also outstanding and even if they only made just standard metal core, their music would still be really good.

As a German who was enjoing his time abroad in Kajaani back in 2005 I've learned that anything hard (hardcore, hardstyle, you name it) doesn't surprise a Finn. You prove that. btw: I was not so much surprised about the "mitä", but I missed the occasioal "perkele"... 😂

"Disgustingly good..." Perfect way to describe them. Hate/Love is one of the new but more serious songs and its also quite a banger, I just recently discovered them as well and have been enjoying the ride. I appreciated hearing you in your native language, so the subs were helpful lol, your English is quite advanced as well.

This song just makes me happy. For the record, I have never really heard Finnish spoken before. It is a beautiful language. Nice reaction.

It's always fun seeing someone experiencing this band the first time. Would be cool if you looked at their other popular stuff (Hypa Hypa and Pump it), though admittedly, musically this is probably their best song.

Out of those 3 popular reaction songs maybe, but I think their best song is MC Thunder 2. Unless want a well written song you can actually get behind for being good, not just dumb and catchy, in which case I give it to Love/Hate lol.

By the time I did, the next words out of your mouth were in English and I was like, damn, KZread has really improved their subtitles...it even sounds like English now. :) I really envy you bilingual folks. eskimo callboy is amazing, really interesting breakdown of the different styles at work here. there are 2 vocalist in EC , a (mostly) clean vocalist, niko and a harsh vocalist kevin. Niko's clean are unbelievable and make such a great contrast to kevin's harsh vocals. that kind of music for EC kinda started with Hypa Hypa, so it's definitely a good check.

Very good reaction. Another band similar to Eskimo Callboy is the Australian band 12 Foot Ninja. They also have a good mix of Metal Groove Fusion and humour. You would like their material, especially their collaboration with Tatiana from Jinjer on "Over and Out" (OMV)

Interesting stuff Anna ! The different styles of music and driving, pounding , loud and screaming in your face lyrics were compelling ! I love that your captions have umlauts on the do-do-do-do-do. I had not thought of them that way and now I cannot think of them any other way. Happy New Year! I really enjoy your analysis and breakdowns. I get to learn something while expanding my musical repertoire! Love the channel. If you don't already have a long enough list of different music to listen to next, might I suggest Band Maid? They are a terrific Japanese rock band with lots of varied influences (metal, pop, jazz, punk). They sing in a combination of Japanese and English. Two subtitled, live songs I would suggest would be "Choose Me" or "Warning" from their you tube channel. I also understand that they do not block much. :)

I loved your reaction, the combination of you speaking finnish with english subs is perfect for me, who started to learn finnish! As the others said, you should check out Hypa Hypa and Pump it, maybe you should check out MC Thunder as well. As EC will be on tour together with Blind Channel, it would be great for me to see reaction to their music as well. Can imagine the analyse of Niko's rap/singing and Joel's singing as an interesting one. As they will release a new album somewhere around march/april it would be nice ;) Nähdään!

I'm kind of writing as I'm watching and when you mention that synth beat rising as they switch into metal screams at the start of their video (at 7:30 or so in your video) reminds me so much of some of the songs in Dance Dance Revolution i used to really enjoy back in college that used a similar rhythm. :-)

That was a great reaction video !!!! Btw the more harsh vocals sings generaly Kevin and the more clean popy sounding stuff sings Nico. Their other two songs with Nico are great as well "Hypa Hypa and Pump It". Then there are some older songs for example MC Thunder 1 and 2 with their previous singer (he has now a different band Ghostkid ). I can suggest We Butter the bread with butter as well :-) Happy new year!!

I have watched this video under multiple platforms and the fact that you made the SAME STANK FACE at the breakdowns tells me all i need to know. Main part of your video..... "disgustingly good". Amazing!

I just understood the half of the video (and I really have to admit that finnish sounds cute), but you definitly got the vibes of the song. It's a shame that the german Television didn't let Eskimo Callboy take their place in the ESC Pre-Contest. They are "not suitable for radio"... But there is a Petition going on to bring them to ESC. Much Love from Germany!

Really catch tune. I got it in my ears for days. And the German Part at the End was so funny :D By the way, you are beautiful.

The artform of these guys is funny, tongue in cheek music videos with simple but super catchy songs which are a fusion of hardcore dance and metal, and damn me if one, it works and two, they are marvellous at it. When you have found the formula for the magic potion, keep making it and the last few releases by these guys burn. Also the remix, multi-artist versions of the song Hypa-Hypa by them also show the flexibility of the song composition and the whimsical nature of the band, all the re-mixes are worth watching as well.

Awesome reaction. I like the way you look at the whole song and vocal parts. As you asked for some recommendations, i definitely have some. I see that you reacted mostly on videos which shows some decent vocal skills. So i hope my favorites will fit your taste of music. Kalafina - Kyrie, Oblivious (live) (They have such great voices, I always get goosebumps) AnnenMayKantereit - Oft gefragt (Henning has an incredible voice) DIR EN GREY - Ain't afraid to die (live) (Kyo also has an incredible voice and an amazing range, this song is also full of passion, it's one of my all time favorites) LOVEBITES / Thunder Vengeance, Set the world on fire (live) (The whole band is so much talented, but this is metal and there's a lot going on in their songs, might be overwhelming) Dollsbox - Take my chance (This is like Eskimo Callboy, Talent + Fun, but different style) And of course Eskimo Callboy - Pump it (the transitions between genres are so perfect in this song.. i love it)

Finally someone knows Hardstyle :) Great analysis.

Oooh Turmion kätilöt were supposed to be the support band for Nightwish when i went to see them here in the UK. For some reason it ended up being Beast in Black instead, they were great though. Great video!! Your commentary is super interesting :D

Especially since EC is a great and fun band, so it's nice to see different people getting into them =) Since you're Finnish, I suggest you react to one of your great bands who did amazing at 2021's ESC : Blind Channel. Great breakdown of a fun song. I like how you switch from Finnish to English so effortlessly. I have a band for your consideration. Bandmaid, who've become my 2nd all time favourite rock band, are brilliant performers. I recommend 3 live performances from the 2020 World Domination Tour. Domination, Freedom and Play. You won't be disappointed. The Maidiacs will invade your channel

Your switching between English and Finnish is really endearing... for some reason xD Maybe Im just nostalgic as I grew up with quite large number of Finnish friends and these days I dont come across the language as often? What a wonderful and joyful reaction! Your reaction videos always make me smile. I agree that it would be amazing to see what Jinjer would do with this, but it might be a challenge to persuade them to cover it. And even then, they'd probably end up with the song switching time signatures all the way through. I'm not sure I can dance to a song that, for instance, switches between 7/8, 6/8, 4/4 and 17/13 times. I'd love to see you react to Blackbriar- Arms of the Ocean (acoustic live).

I loved your reaction. I also like that you had English subtitles. Thank you. I can't wait to see you react to Eskimo Callboy's songs Hypa Hypa and Pump It. Also, if you like a mixture of styles you should react to Falling in Reverse. The Trilogy which are Losing My Mind, Losing My Life and Drugs. Also the stand alone songs... Popular Monster, The Drug in Me is Reimagined and I'm Not a Vampire Revamped are also standouts.

@@annavaskelainen Hey Anna, have you seen the video of Frank on a TV talk show (Steve Allen) where they shot the bull for a little bit, and then they bought out I believe it was a tricycle and Frank actually made music from it with a violin bow it was crazy hilarious. Have a blessed day. ☮️ Edit: I had to double check on this so I went back and watched the video and it was actually a bicycle with a bass bow an drumsticks.

Finnish sounds like a thai person speaking german, its rad. Great reaction + breakdown.

And it's really indicative of subjectivness on whatever you've been exposed previously, isn't it?? PS: Nightwish have been my favourite band for some time now! I really envy you finnish for good music being transversal to society (any finnish I met know them)... here we have some really bad (repetitive) music transversal to society!... But well we have the Sun?...

Imagine you want to start a band and your selling pitch is : I want to combine a boyband with techno and hardstyle, add a bit of metal too, maybe something heavy? oh and ofc we'll need a specific pop sound as well.... And somehow that happened and who knew.. it's AWESOME!! lol I only discovered them recently but i love what i've seen so far, their creativity and humor is top notch and they are actually pretty darn talented musicians as well, not bad for a "comedy" act ;) (fun fact, to be a good comedy act, you HAVE to be very very good at what you do, or it will not work, think Weird Al, Tenacious D or that ridiculously entertaining drummer we all seen videos of here on KZread those work so well because they are extremely talented musicians)

I normally don't like the growling style of singing but this was just too catchy and so all over the place I just couldn't help liking it. The video and the looks was a nice throwback to DEVO's Whip It from 1980. Great reaction and as always nice analysis.
