I hadn't noticed it before but Ritchson nailed that scene from a veterans perspective. As Finlay started to launch you can see Reacher bow his head a little and cover his smile to prevent himself from laughing while he enjoys the show. That is 100% military reaction to watching someone getting reamed. Great detail.

It's so intimidating when Allan Ritchson slowly stands up out of a chair to his full height, like a rising mountain. I know he's not actually as tall as Reacher from the books, but he's very good at conveying Reacher's complete confidence in his own power, without threats or posturing.

I feel like if Finlay joined the army instead of going to Harvard him and Reacher would’ve been best buddies like how he was with his 110th special investigators team, finlay would’ve had the rank of either 1st lieutenant or captain I see him being a great asset to Reacher and his team and that he plays by the books but knows when to step up and take charge that’s why I love Finlay and Reachers relationship it’s built on a lot of distrust and animosity at first but develops into a genuine level of respect and friendship, reacher likes to poke at Finlay and Finlay learns how to not be serious and reacher and him know how to read one another, and that last scenes before he left shows how much Reacher means to Finlay especially after adopting the dog shows that he thinks of Reacher as family like how he does to Roscoe and that he won’t forget what Reacher did for him and saved his life and in the book when they found the money they were jumping up and down celebrating like a bunch of kids that was unexpected but so funny
