The older generation (me included) aren't exercising the long range thinking about the numerous problems our species and our planet are facing because they won't be around when these problems really hit hard. Things like climate change, resource depletion, pollution, the 6th great extinction, etc ALL require urgent and long range solutions. Short term and live for today thinking simply won't do. I wish I had younger more progressive candidates to vote for, but it seems we don't here in the U.S.

Future problems do need to be addressed, but you can't brush off today's problems. The older generation, me included, still has problems that have to be addressed. Saying, don't worry, you'll be dead soon, won't cut it. You still have to look after everyone.

@@esaedvik yes it's sad that the species went extinct. Some due to man, some due to natural causes as throughout history. The Ivory-billed woodpecker has resurfaced as a species thought to be extinct in the deep American South. That's great news! But the fact is many species went extinct without the help of man due to the ever changing climate in this world. Now mankind has overpopulated the earth and it shows. We need to figure something out or mankind will be extinct. That's why the elites have a depopulation plan, COVID didn't work so they will ensure the next "thing" will.

They started back in 2000 and have kept making everything worse and worse every time they are in charge. Then it doesnt help that we have the less intelligent people just shouting in PS so now our politics look like a damn madhouse when the opposition just shouts out random facts that most has nothing to do with our current government and that damage was done waay back. Like is the healthcare better now that they removed our old system and made in centralized(no it aint if you brain cant handle the truth then compare it to what we had before Kokoomus went and fckd it over)? Look at our public transport, again Kokoomus went and fckd it over so now it takes me 4.5h to travel a route that took me 2.5h before they changed it. Even better in the 90's we had public transport even in tiny places and now we only have the bus stops left to remind us of how much Kokoomus has fckd us over. Look at the rents that they let loose, people with fulltime jobs have to rely on Kela support because they cant afford to live within a decent(less than 1 hour) trip from work. Kokoomus is trying to bring USA here and they will be happy when we have homeless on the streets and profitable prisons. If it would be legal I would have visited our former 3 pigs and showed em how much better they made our country.

You should listen what she said/did 4 yrs ago as she became the leader of the socialdemocratic party - she became as the sdp colleague lied badlly and had to resign. Her first speach she started 'comrades' and repeated it at least ten times in that speach. She is a communist and acts like one. Her opinions are to brighten her brand - for her own benefit, not for her country - her actions (what she says in public) is what social media's people shout and when bad decisions or problems need answers she never shows up. She builts her brand on her looks and her age - which is very hallow base. Speaking and acting are totally different matters. Finland has never had economy, healthcare, schools in such a bad shape - and she blames covid19 and the war in Ukrainia as there never were problems before only during her time. Reuters interviewed her in Jan 2022 and she said 'Finland will not join Nato in my watch' - and changed her opinion fast after Russia attacked Ukraine. Her opinions are taken from social media, which is not sign of leadership or knowledge. In Estonia they have also a young, beautiful woman pm and she acts for the benefit of her country, makes wise decisions, explains her actions in public etc. You should put these two in comparison or investigate deeper her actions. The climate change: Finland's pollutions are 0.0001% of the worlds - we should have some perspective in matters and put the matters of economy, healthcare etc in priority.

About Nato in the Reuters interview she said joining is 'very unlikely' during her term and continued by defending Finland's right to join if it seemed necessary. At that time Nato had around 25% support, and therefore the 'very unlikely' was a mere fact. It is not for her to decide on the isssue, it is totally up to the parliament. The option of joining is also in her published government programme since 2019. This is just an example of how people who dislike her are ready to lie - surprisingly even on issues that anyone can easily check.

In reality you support the right wing and conservative politics and therefore prefer Kaja Kallas as she represents a conservative party. There is no more depth in your opinion. Social democrats traditionally address each other as 'comrades', it does not make them communists - if you bothered to study history you would understand the difference. Marin is even more pragmatic than most social democrats. And as your memory fails and you don't bother to check any facts, Marin was elected the leader of SDP in the Summer of 2020, not even 3 years ago.

"Normal for my age". It can't be true that she is our Prime Minister.. She should be given a badge of honor for taking on 40-50 billion euros of debt, of which only 8-10 billion went crawling out of the corona swamp. Before her reign, the debt amount of Finland, which is more than a hundred years old, was less than 100 billion. Now it's 150 billion!! All this in just less than four years. Unbelievable! And despite that, gigging at stake are e.g. health care, early childhood education, care for the elderly and self-sufficient agriculture!! Future generations will have to pay back the debt with their backs wrong.
