Dear followers, we are very sorry to point out one major mistake in our very own video. As mentioned in several comments, the Finnish Civil War was not won by the Reds as mentioned in the video, but by the Whites. Thank you to all our followers who pointed this out. We regret our mistake. The Europe Elects team.

Thank you for the fairly comprehensive and mostly accurate video. However, at 7:03 you claim that SDP/the Reds won the civil war, which is the opposite of what actually happened. And at 5:40 you refer Southwest Finland when talking about just Finland Proper, one part of Southwest Finland.

You know, the Finns party actually split because of disagreements between then just-elected chairman Jussi Halla-aho and the runner-up of the election Sampo Terho & former chairman Timo Soini. As policy disagreements between Halla-aho and other government parties were too big, the government nearly split itself. However, this did not happen because Terho, Soini and other ministers of Finns party created the Blue reform.

Good video but I have two major gripes. The reds did not win the civil war and you mainly focused on the old PerusS before the split up. Their values have changed in the "reform" of Jussi Halla-Aho. PerusS is not focused on same sex marriage unlike when Timo Soini was in charge. Also PeruS is not necessarily anti-Nato, even Hallo-Aho himself thinks we should join. The whole surrounding Nato is very divided in Finland regardless of parties. Also I would call PerusS now more EU sceptical than anti-EU.

Sipilä is not a former captain of the Defence Forces. He is actually an active captain in the reserves. Petteri Orpo is also a Captain (res), Antti Rinne is an Able Seaman (res), Pekka Haavisto served in the civilian service. Compulsory (military) service in Finland for men, optional for women.

For some reason people here seem to have no grasp of Finnish politics, just like Finns generally have no idea how their vote counts in each jurisdiction and how government is formed through negotitions with several other parties (that require compromises, that have so long made Finland such a great place to live in because neither left or right wingers haven´t have absolute majority much)

things in Finland are at pretty good shape at this moment, there is some issues which may become problem and some issues which needs some adjustments, but as general there is not really major big things that needs urgent fix, that is why all parties seems to be same with little variation on minor issues.

Finn's Party and other religious sides wish to put some more border control and immigration regulation system, but other just want to give them gifts and free jobs. Considering that Finland is selling their companies away because parlament says so.

@@MrAapasuo I think you mean Blue Reform. Basic Finns split during 2015 coalition. Jussi Halla-Aho personally had disagreements with Timo Soini, the founder of Basic Finns and other ministers who were leading the coalition meanwhile Sipilä wasn't at his Prime Minister seat for almost 2 years. Soini and other ministers made new party, kicked Basic Finns from coalition, and earned lot more money when Basic Finns were ripped off. You should point your finger at Timo Soini... he after all was doing all that budget cutting. He stopped doing politics after Blue Reform could not get any seats for themselves.
