finishing up my old sketchbook for a weekly art challenge | sketchbook in a week challenge

Sometimes, finishing up sketchbooks can take forever and you just gotta intentionally set aside time for drawing - which is what I did for this video. I attempted to fill the remaining 11 spreads of this sketchbook in a week, so I can finally move on to my other ones (I'm a sketchbook hoarder, any other artists relate?)
I've had this sketchbook since 2016, and so while the last few spreads took me seven days to fill, the entire sketchbook took seven YEARS! Wild, I know! To be fair, I wasn't big on the paper then and I'm not big on it now - it works only with pencil. I've realized I need my sketchbooks to be able to take various media well as I do like experimenting in them and trying out new paints and techniques.
I'll do a sketchbook tour of this one later this month, and I wonder how long it will take me to fill up my other sketchbooks? How long does it generally take you?

My wife and I always check out your shorts, but haven't watched a longer video yet. We loved it! Also, all the best with the Ludum Dare game jam/taking a little more time with the game. A friend's done a few Ludum Dares and has always had so much fun with them!

Thank you again Christopher! I’m really happy you two enjoy my videos!!! Ludum Dare is super fun but can be super daunting and stressful as well. We made one game for it two years ago I think, and it was fun but the game was very… lackluster 😅 For this one we wanted to give our best, so it ended up taking a lot more time.

I totally relate with the color choice paralysis, although ironically it happens more to me digitally because I tend to get very indecisive! Congratulations on finishing the sketchbook! :D The spreads look so lovely- especially the blackberry one :)

Congratulations on finishing the sketchbook, it was so satisfying to watch you fill the last few spreads in! I actually really like the acrylic marker one 🥲 but totally understand the frustration of not having all the colors available as opposed to working on a digital piece! And I am definitely looking forward to seeing more weekly challenges! 😁
