We are- a family of four,
Mum- Annie,
Dad-Bruce
Two children Elsie and Betsy
We decided to trade our busy life as home and business owners to chase the dream we’ve harboured for 10years.
How did we get here
After years of saying one day, we finally realised that these opportunities don’t just land in your lap and if we seriously wanted to make a difference to the Earth then we were going to have to stop talking about it and do it!
We sold all our stuff, got rid of the mortgage, sold our camper conversion business and landed in a dream come true. After traveling in our van we settled here in the west of Ireland. A place that has always been special to us. Annie is half Irish and since we met 13 years ago and she took me to meet her family i fell in love with Ireland too.
Now we’ve made this dream a reality there is no stopping us! our plan is to work hard, meet new people and learn new skills that will guide us on our journey of permaculture and creating a way of life that sings to us. One where we aren’t bound to the banks, working every hour and outsourcing all of our needs. A simple way of life, with connection to ourselves, each other, the earth and our community.

Hi Bruce, the floorboards and the sills look amazing and I’m so pleased to here Annie announce she is preparing a No Dig bed. Can I advise her from my 10 years experience of No Dig gardening to start off with at least two layers of cardboard then the black polythene and leave like that until adding a minimum layer of 6 inches of compost in March when planting out arrives. In the meantime Bruce you need to get those composting bays put together. I recon you’ll need at least 4 that are 3x3x3 foot minimum and covered as we well know how much it rains in these parts. Love to you all ❤

If you cover areas you want to grow in in black plastic over a summer when the sun is beating down you’ll really kill the weeds. You could also put pretty fresh compost on top ( under the plastic) to break it down and add nutrients. Then use it the next spring to plant

@@OffGridBruce I’ve never had a problem with that and I live in Scotland, so it gets pretty cold. I did it the way you’ve done it in my second year of beekeeping and my bees starved to death, a horrible sight! I hear you I nearly lost a finger a few years ago but you look so much of the saws capability with the guard on. The riving knife is still attached I just modified it to be flush with the blade so I could make several passes at various depths. With the guard and original riving knife all you could do is size down timber that was under 3 inches thick
