FINISHED LOFT CONVERSION TOUR | 2022
IT'S FINALLY FINISHED! 11 months after the builders arrived, we are ready to tour our finished loft conversion. We hired builders to create the shell of our l-shaped dormer and then finished everything yourselves - building the walls, laying the floor, plumbing, you name it!

I love your design -- practical but still pretty
It's beautiful, you have done a fantastic job! The plant in the dressing room is a peace lily I think. I totally hear you about practicality over pretty (to a point). It's so refreshing to see that honesty. It drives me round the twist when you see Instagram posts where they have like 3 toiletries on display and two pairs of obviously never-worn shoes. Good luck on the next phase!

Thanks Christina - glad you like the finished product! 💜
For the towels you can grab special radiator hooks that will give you that little bit of extra space. Victoria Plumbing, B&Q etc should do some nice black ones to match your radiator. 2 at the top and two at the bottom will allow you to balance towels almost like a clothes horse for your bathroom without taking up the space or being an eye sore. Love the channel. We pick up the keys to our first Reno this week - wish us luck.

Evening guys, Just what I was looking for!! A total ball park figure and how to go about planning and building permissions. Been doing the family home for decades and coming to the last big project (Kinda reverse of what you are doing) The Loft. Been a very informative watch as I have a L Shaped Victorian house to convert. The tricks used to save money.. Excellent ideas, so thanks very much for the heads up in to this big project.

Wow! Fantastic finish and thanks for sharing the detailed costing for your loft conversion. It was informative. Kindly share the details of your plasterer that has got around 40years experience. Thanks
Love this walkthrough! We are in the planning process and find this so helpful. We would love the same layout! Would you be able to share the floorplan to understand the sizing a bit more? Do you have eaves storage?
Love it❤️
Hi I love your loft conversion...
Lovely, I always sleep better when my room is super tidy. Could you hang the towels on hooks to dry? I don't use my towel rail anymore cos I'm so desperate for the heat (old and draughty house). I'm going to check out those lamps ... Congratulations, I can hear how happy this makes you feel x
Love your loft!!! Would love to know if you can recommend the builder you used, I as well know no one in london, and it looks like you are happy with them! Would be amazing!! Thank you
Kudos for not having a TV in the bedroom 😀 The whole loft conversion looks so well thought out and put together. I am a bit late to this video but I am catching up gradually and loving watching them all.

Thanks - just means we use the living room more. Hope you enjoy the rest of the videos. ☺️
Regarding drying your towels, I have a wooden towel rail.
The plant is a peace lily ☺ they not need too much light they just like to be wet, they are beautiful plants. Dont panic when the flowers die, that's normal and it'll put out new ones if it's happy! The other plant is a fiddle leaf fig, can be pretty tricky but yours looks healthy. I would honestly swap out the fake succulents for real ones. They're pretty much unkillable, water them once a month if that and theyll be fine and they look so much nicer than fake ones
Great videos, so informative, thank you for sharing. Is it always best to do the loft first rather than the downstairs?
@FeedbyAutumn
2 жыл бұрын
Depends what your priorities are. For ease it’s better to start up and work your way down as the loft creates so much dust. If we did our kitchen first it would have been ruined by builders walking through filling up water for cement, washing out paint brushes etc.
So good to see everything come together after such a had slug! Please do you mind linking the shower enclosure you have? I’m going to need something similar for a small bathroom xx
@FeedbyAutumn

It was from Bathroom Mountain. It’s called London Matt Black 6mm Sliding Shower Enclosure ☺️
Hi there, We have a house in East London and we are also thinking about doing exactly the same thing. Could you tell us about all your room measurements. Thank you.
Great Video! You’ve done fabulous job. Full breakdown of cost would be hugely appreciated 🙏. I’m currently contemplating doing the same strategy with getting a builder to build the shell and managing the remaining works myself.

It’s just Wickes Trade Paint in Pure Cotton! I’d say it’s a white with a slight grey undertone
It's great to see that you are now enjoying the space you've created. Be warned - odd sock boxes can self reproduce.

Definitely the messiest jobs we have ever done 😂 was so worth it for the extra headroom!
Maybe a large mirror on the staircase wall will reflect the light from the skylight down to the hall.

That’s a great idea!
Where was that fabric box from that you're using for odd socks? Would love a cost breakdown video, far too many renovation youtubers are too scared to discuss costs and it's so unhelpful for those of us looking for inspiration of whats in budget. Love these videos!

They are the IKEA SKUBB shoe boxes 😊 And will be sure to film a total cost video - it was definitely something we struggled to find when we were starting out!
Yes your skylight is brillant but how do you clean it? Also in this intense heat Summer how do you cope? does it face straight to the sky or is is slanting towards east/west/south? If it was my house I would want to believe I could do it facing North which then would help in the type of Summer we are experiencing. Your comment is welcome.
@FeedbyAutumn
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks - it brings in so much light! It’s definitely hotter in the summer but as it’s not a bedroom it’s ok. It faces straight towards the sky, it’s meant to be self cleaning but not the best at it. I think we will need to climb out through the velux window and onto the top to give it a clean when it gets really dirty. I would highly recommend one though for the light it brings in
Hi, beautiful space. Where is the chest of drawers place from please? X

What will eventually be the “study” is currently our tool room. Although it’s not much of a tool room and more of a dumping ground
I've stopped using towels. I prefer a big Turkish robe. easy to hang and dries in a day, I wash it once a week : )

Question from the US. Do most women in Britain do their makeup and hair in the bedroom or a dressing room? I see a lot of pedestal sinks in British renovated baths, even large bathrooms. In the US I think most women do hair and makeup in the bathroom, so we do the biggest vanities possible with maxed out storage and drawers.
@GemmaMiss
2 жыл бұрын
Most people would get ready in the bedroom/dressing room. They may move to the bathroom for makeup if the light is better. But hair always in the bedroom. We don’t have sockets for the hair dryers in our bathrooms…in case of ⚡️
@jille9650

@@GemmaMiss Thank you! We have ground fault interrupt sockets in the bathroom that will trip if exposed to water or power surges. The same type have to be fitted in kitchens close to the sink.

Yep as Gems said, I’ve always done my hair and makeup in my bedroom as there’s no plugs in the bathrooms (and also because my bathrooms have had TERRIBLE lighting!)
