That’s not why the guide is helpful, first off it details the quickest route, the order and direction to switch spinners and a way of completing the map most people don’t use because they jump

Yep

an extra tip: on the final spinning platforms, jump and land on the first one and try to travel as far right as you can, so you can get onto the 2nd one wuicker without it taking you too far left, which in turn gives you the 3rd one quicker. keeping to the right reduces the distance involved.

But the platforms’ movement doesn’t add to your travelled distance. They just move you left and right, while you’re traveling forward. Waiting for the first platform to push you further right seems slower, since you are not moving forward towards the goal. Am I missing something?

@@wZem left and right is still distance. reducing left and right movements overall as well as the fact that the balls are less prevelent on the right makes it the best choice

1:39 it’s a tiny bit faster if you jump and dive instead of just jumping, that’s how I’m usually first on this even tho I usually take the normal path at the start

I want to believe you but why would that be faster than just jumping? Diving is only advantageous if you don't need to get up (finishing) or if you're already going to fall if you would have just jumped (after a long fall).

It’s true. Diving and jumping on normal ground doesn’t make a difference because jumping is normal running speed and diving gets u a few feet faster but also takes a sec to get up. If u dive into the spinning platform u hit the ground faster so the platform starts carrying u sooner.

On new update, platforms can rotate differently. On third checkpoint, there can be no rotating platforms at all. You should label this video as "Outdated".
