Finger Replacements for Fingerboard Navigation - Bass Riff Exercise

Музыка

In this preview lesson, DDB founder Geoff Chalmers teaches a simple exercise to practice playing with finger replacements to aid fingerboard navigation, intonation and shifting.
What are Finger Replacements?
When you have two consecutive notes, there is the option to play them using different fingers instead of keeping your hand in the same position. Using different fingers allows you to reposition your hand so that you're better prepared to play the notes that follow. This can improve your intonation and help you to navigate the fingerboard with ease.
In this lesson, Geoff teaches a simple bass pattern using finger replacements. As you will see, it's a lot easier to play it in tune using them.

Nice exercise! Good for spotting the holes in my intonation. Your bass sounds delicious by the way!
