FINGER MONKEYS ARE TINY

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Talk about teeny tiny monkeys. These little primates are so small they can cling to your finger!

Sure you can though it'd be better for you to convert a room in your place into an atrium or greenhouse & go to a horticultural store & get some of the trees native to the forests they live in. Theres NOTHING wrong with having 1 or a mating pair of them ( better to get the pair because the little guy will get lonely ) Dont let other people decide what you can or cant do or own, NOBODY has the right to say you cant, just as nobody has the right to say you HAVE to have 1. If people dont take them on as pets then when their natural habitat is gone in a few short decades & their extinct then what? better to start domesticating ALL Monkeys to become pets or the only ones left will be owned by labs or zoos. Not to mention the russians proved that selective breeding works & can be accomplished in roughly 20yrs. They did it with minks & foxes & ended up w/ones that could be handled by humans & even kept as pets. No animal is undomesticatable. thats why its legal in russia for petstores to sell monkeys , its just illegal to bring them into russia through illegal means

I wish people would stop trading these animals. They're wild animals, living in houses with humans is not natural for them. It's not like with dogs or cats that have been domesticated over thousands of years to live with us. If someone desperately wants a cute pet that will climb all over the place, they should just get a kitten or a ferret instead. Personally I'm content just watching these adorable little furballs on video, I'm not so selfish as to try and take them with me away from their homes.

I have to agree w/Mizvy Morgart. With their natural habitat disapearing so quickly the only way to keep them from going extinct is to either have Zoo's worldwide keep a huge population and/or allow people to breed them for pets. The marmoset does have the 1 advantage in making a comeback though & thats that they have twins 90% of the time & triplets 5%, only 5% of the time do they produce a single offspring & this trait makes them lucretive for breeders & due to their small size alot easier for owners to make large enough spaces to simulate a natural-like habitat even in a small space. Not to mention the typical life span of a pet marmoset is close to 60% longer than those in the wild. Sorry but I'm very pro exotic pet due to the world loosing its "wild" areas so quickly & I will probably be able to purchase a breeding pair in a few months. Lastly all breeds of animals can become domesticated & with selective breeding this can happen in less than 2 decades, I personaly look forward to a future where anyone can get any animal they want for a companion. I do however believe that said owners should have to take a year long class for each different species of animal they want & pass an exam on how to care for it as well as show they have adiquite room for the pet to live & roam in, so it'd be hard still to get something like a tiger unless you could prove you had close to 6 acres of fenced in land for it to establish as its territory. I will say that the above is just all IMO, I understand & respect yours .

Nope. Marmosets need natural sunlight or they’ll develop metabolic bone disease, so they need outdoor time. They are also highly socially complex, and because they tend to be expensive, people tend to buy only one, or two if they are trying to breed them for profit. In addition, even these little primates stay with their mothers for many, many months and breeders separate babies from their mothers as early as a few days old in an attempt to get the monkey to “bond” with their human And because they are complex, this causes intense behavioral problems for mother and infant. You see repetitive movements, self-soothing like incessant finger sucking, rocking back and forth on the stuffed animal being used as a surrogate mother, self-injury. That’s not considering the highly complex nutritional needs these primates need, or the social stimulation needed to keep them from going crazy. Then there’s sexual maturity and the change in temperament that causes most marmosets (the ones that survive to adulthood, that is) to be rehomed to a sanctuary or rescue center. It’s just not a good idea, and if you care about marmosets, you wouldn’t own one. If that’s not enough for you to think twice, remember these are often victims of the illegal exotic pet trade or ignorant backyard breeders who have no care about their monkeys’ well-being and keep pumping out babies and ripping them away from their mothers as long as someone is lined up to pay the $1000 - $8000 price tag for their cruelty. So if you think buying a single marmoset online and keeping him in a cage all day alone while you are at work is acceptable, I disagree.

+The Piscis evergreen forests can't starve an animal to dwarfism and specially primates who are omnivorous will definitely find enough food. but these monkey's diet contains sap and tree-gum ( up to 90% ) and 10% insects for protein. I think, that might be the reason. not much information is available on these creatures but only their price in different countries and the location of possible markets, where one can find them.

It pisses me so much when people take animals out of the wild and keep them for their amusement

How do you know that everyone who has such a pet keeps them for their own amusement? Whenever someone makes such a claim you just have to call them out on it. What they respond with most times is amusing, at least in my case.
