Another wonderful video Doug .. thank you for the sharing.
I love your calming museum tours, Doug.
Referancing the word "Mad dogs and Englishmen" Spills the beans about doug being substantially old fashioned in thought
I wallked past the museum in 2016. At the time I didn't realise it was a museum, but thought it was not open with repairs and construction going on. Gorgeous building though. CC A villa for the rich Hoa family.
I am glad to have you here in Vietnam. Keep safe and have fun 🎉Surprisingly, you’re still in Saigon 😊
Thank you Doug for another wonderful museum visit in Vietnam

My pleasure! I enjoy museums, as you know.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. I am Vietnamese who lives in Canada. I just accidentally discovered your videos from country. I decided to follow your journey. Thank you for visiting Vietnam
Thanks for sharing uncle Doug. I will be in there in August 😊
Cc residence. My guess is it was such until WW2. I'm with you Doug. It"s worth the price of admission to see the elevator and building I too liked the "3D" painting. Wasn't crazy about anything else, but that doesn't mean it was bad.

Yes, it was a residence for, of course, a wealthy family. I can't imagine a need for all those connecting rooms that now make up the museum exhibit rooms. But I guess if you have the money, why not construct a mansion with lots of bedrooms? You can invite over the whole family for holidays and weekends. 😀
I, like you, am more intrigued by the buildings, structures and architecture of the residence and the grounds. The nuances of the "art" is, typically lost on my, but occasionally I do see something that does move me. I have been by this museum many times, but have, as of yet, to go in. After seeing your video, I am more interested in visiting during my next visit to HCMC. Thanks!
Good luck , Doug
Thanks

Yes, it was originally a residence. When I went there, I assumed it was a government building. It seemed too grand to be anybody's home. But that's what it was.
