I don't think I have ever missed an episode of "Finding Your Roots " How lucky are David to have had Dr Gates do yours . I've been working on mine for a while now , and finally have gotten to my mat.great great grandfather and gggrandmother . and found my great great grandmother that no one really knew about because she died when my grandfather was only 4 years old . I watch you David every night just as I did when were here in Boston at WCVB . I go back to when it was WHDH channel 5 on Morrissey Bld . So thank you for staying the same guy and new anchor that came to Boston .

I love to watch “Finding your Roots.” The stories and lives being told; the hows, why’s and when’s” then to find out some are distantly related to each other like Julieanne Moore. I love tracing family trees and history! Cheers to Dr. Gates

The best one was finding out that Bernie Sanders and Larry David were related. (Though if you looked at them it wasn't that much of a surprise but the reaction was hilarious 😂😂😂)

I took the ancestry DNA test looking for viking and found none. It took me two weeks to follow up on this rumor told by our dark age noblemen. We were the very first horse people and the only tribe the Roman's feared and forced us to be their cavalry. They took the sons very young for 30 years Generationally for centuries. Which forced the daughters to be the warriors and defenders of the tribe. They didn't marry until the men would eventually return to the tribe, they had arranged marriages. They didn't kill the boys but sent them to the fathers to hide from the Roman's. They found their tombs 2yrs ago and have the DNA of the Poles Czechs and Ukrainians. The Roman's have busts of the Sarmatian knights faces 3000 years ago and my family look like twins of these guys still today and I found out that my last name means the eyebrowbridge of the Sarmatians. I put out my book THE FIRST HORSE PEOPLE, it's the complete history of my ancient tribe the Sarmatian knights and the Amazon women. It's about how we first aquired the horses and what we did with them, our migration west and service to Rome, then our freedom from Rome and then our migration into Poland and Ukraine and how we won the breadbasket of Europe.

You’re gonna have to stand in line. In almost every ancestry video he does there’s at least one comment asking him to do their genealogy. I hear he’s extremely pretentious in real life so I doubt he’d be interested in helping non-celebrities. He makes excellent documentaries though!
