The key is for the ignition the can opener is for opening the oil can so you can put oil in the engine. There should have been a second key for that car one to open up the doors with a round end.

A few months ago I came across a 1966 Mustang Convertible that had been off of the road for some time after the second owner of the car for over 50 years had passed away. It had been left outside in the beach area of San Diego with the top down so it was really dirty etc. While bringing it to life and putting it back on the road I to discovered an extra set of keys sitting in the bottom of the heater duct under the dash. Ya have to love these little old car finds.

Somewhere out there is an old guy watching videos and he finally figured where his kids hid the spare key so they could drive the truck when the folks were out. In my day, we hid a key inside the tailpipe when we went skinny dipping. (clothes locked inside the car)

A popular mechanics article dated back in 1960's and one thr life hacks was placing a spare key inside the washer reservoir bag.

I found a key held in place behind the front bumper by the number plate bolts. It was an old farm truck, so I'm sure they had a tool box on the tray that could undo the bolts if it was ever needed
