The point of this video: While they're mining this material in Africa we are dumping it in landfills Stateside. Something to think about while we're stuck in traffic.

You will also find a lot of tantalum caps in military or aircraft grade equipment, often with a silvered metal can package. And here is what tantalum caps looked like in russian electronics www.155la3.ru/k52_3.htm

Yeah I know it's strange I called them then had my wife call and double check before I left sure enough I did get the quote except for the broken boards for some reason they brought a little less I had almost 150 lbs between loe grade and telecom so I took a lose on close to 40 lbs high grade so I didn't have to send it off but made some up on low grade. I wanted to send off for 3.65 a lb for quoted telecom but heard so many bad things about the two large companies.has anyone had experience postive or negative with mail in companies thanks for your time scrappers

There is not Coltan (tantalum) mining in Rwanda , Rwandese coltan come from DR Congo where Rwanda regime is killing people and destabilising Eastern of Congo in order to access coltan. That s why there is mineral conflict in Congo and multinational companies are getting coltan from Congo throught Rwanda .

4:08 ~~~> I think they are 10μF tantalum capacitors; 4:33 ~~~> also look like tantalum capacitors; 5:20 ~~~> looks like silicon diodes. I don't think tantalum is used for diodes. If the componente is represented by a "C" in the circuit board, is probably a capacitor. If it is represented by a "CR" it probably means "current rectifier" (a diode). This is all just my guess, I might be wrong.

There are some older ones that you will probably want to find refs on but usually you can find old electronics repair manuals that show great refs. www.electronicsandyou.com/blog/electronic-components-parts-and-their-function.html

Do sad sam odradio 100-150 desktop racunara i oko 200-300 lap-topova i cega jos i sve ustekao i dalje skupljam pako zna jednog dana.... Pozdrav iz Srbije

Do you ever keep vintage and rare computers you find, like old IBMs, Tandys and Apples? There are definitely collectors out there that would love some of the things that get scrapped.
