Finding Pictures of Papa Jake at the Brownlow House in Northern Ireland
Here is the complete story set of how we found old war photos of Papa Jake. After finding these photos that have not been seen in decades, I recorded Papa Jake's reaction to seeing them and what he could remember.
These photos were taken at the Brownlow House in Northern Ireland when he was stationed there in World War II while in G-3 V Corps.
After posting these videos on Tiktok, they received an overwhelming amount of support to send Papa Jake back to the Brownlow House. Since then we have created a GoFundMe to get him back there!

Papa Jake, you’re absolutely the best.❤️
This is fantastic. Really pleased to hear he will be visiting Brownlow House in March.
lovely to see your grandads reaction to the castle with turrets (chimneys). I often hear my granny tell stories about the americans stationed there. They were also advised not to talk about religion when they came to Ireland ...a thorny subject indeed.
Thank you for your service your an amazing man and don't look a day over 20!
This is amazing! I live close to Brownlow House and I often hear stories about when the GIs were stationed there. My late aunt told me that she remembered hundreds of young soldiers camped in the park during the war. One night in summer of 1944 she woke up to the sounds of trucks shipping all these young guys off to an unknown destination. We now know this was for D Day. She would always tear up when she told this story. Perhaps Papa Jake was one of those young men?
Hi my Grandad was stationed in Lurgan too. We are still here. Wonder did he know my Grandad?
