I set a timer on my phone when I hunt for comics on my lunch break. The guys at the comic shop know when my lunch break is off.

I could never pass up a Dave Stevens cover. They were so beautifully done. He was known for his crazy attention detail and inking which he very much preferred. Like you said he passed on way too early in life but he definitely left a legacy we can always enjoy. Great pick ups Mike!

I've said it somewhere else, but I'm definitely a nostalgic collector more than a key collector. I understand getting just as excited over a Mojo Mayhem because it sparks that memory that takes you right back to the day. So much more fun for me than grabbing keys. Love keys too though, don't get me wrong! 🤣

Dave Stevens was a brilliant artist. I can’t say this enough times.

The Ultimate line was fantastic, Mike. The Marvel zombies storyline started in Ultimate FF. Bendis and Bagley’s over 100 issue run is in Ultimate Spider-Man. Some of Bendis best work is in there and you already know about UXM. Great pickups though, esp DKIII. Keep reading. It’s really interesting with fantastic art by Kubert.

Ultraman!! I did the same, searching through an antique store and found Ultraman 1,2,&3, all virgin covers in great shape. Picked them up for .30 a piece. They present really well, especially for the money 😅

I loved Ultraman as a kid. I would have snatched that too if I saw it.

You said you were just as happy with a pile of cheap books. Amen!!! My entire channel is based around finding cool comics cheap. I am going to have to look for that Ultra man comic. Used to watch that show when I got home from grammar school.

So many great comics out there to choose from that makes your head spin! I am starting to run out of space in my small man cave! 😂

Thank you for giving Excalibur some love. I really, really enjoyed that series when it first came out and it always surprises me that it never really took off in terms of popularity and value....Nightcrawler was always my favorite too. Thank you also for picking up the Rocketeer magazine....always worth picking up everytime once can find one. LOVE LOVE LOVE Dave Stevens!!!!!
