In today's video, we determine our injector data experimentally.

Hey Calvin! That is a bad ass car you've built! Awesome video also, I appreciate people taking their time and making stuff like this for others. Sorry about the data confusion, I had more comprehensive data on our old site but when I switched over to Shopify some things didn't translate. We have Xcel files with more in depth data that actually considers ignition volts we just have to email them right now. anyways, you did an awesome job getting it and made a bad ass video! I've seen your car arpund the net and had no clue it ran SEP injectors! I am super happy to see that, thanks for sticking with us! Brad

I knew you guys would have the data. Lol. I just wanted to try a little science experiment! The injectors are working great so far. Thanks for the kind words!

It's sooo much easier to just use an oscilloscope. You can see when the trigger signal is sent to the injector, and you can clearly see the blip in the signal when the injector pintle actually opens, which gives you very precise timing of how long the dead time is without all this measuring of fuel in a graduated cylinder.

It's actually easier to just reduce the pulse width slowly until it stops spraying fuel. No fancy equipment needed. Live and learn.

Hey man when do you think you'll be back at the dyno? Found a pic of the atlas bottom end and the it looks solid. MotiveDVD did a strength test video series comparing the 2jz to rb30/25/26 and barra and the 2jz was strongest of them all due to its siamese bores. From the pics ive seen the atlas has siamese bores aswell.

I'm not sure. I would like to do some more improvements , and maybe some track testing before I head back to the Dyno. To be honest the Vortec 4200 would probably not fair well against the RB, 2JZ, and Barra. It's aluminum block is known to have strength issues. The primary advantage to the 4200, is how cheap and readily available it is.

Would you still consider this the best/easiest way to measure dead time? Or have you come up with a different method since this. Thank you!

Hey, really cool and informative videos. I noticed the google sheet has been updated since this video. Was there some new information uncovered? Looks like you got some injector data from SEP that closely matched the data you had to enter into your car. I'm currently running "Matts Data 2". I'm going to tryout the SEP data and your experimental data and see if smooths things out. Thanks

Yeah. I grabbed the wrong data for Matt's data. Also the guy who owns snake eater performance sent me some data. I am currently running the experimental data that I found in this video, it runs pretty well.

Its under the first drop down. Look for injector offset. Not at a computer right now, or I would tell you exactly.

Im using speeduino with tunerstudio and it seems that test mode is only available with megasquirt systems. Hmm. I want to be able to find the data for my oem motorcycle injectors.
