Rock Hounding the Upper Peninsula | GLOWING 🌕 Yooperlites & Agates with my Siberian Husky !
A quickly thrown together and edited video of a multi day rock hunting trip to the world famous naturally tumbled rocky beaches of Lake Superior in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Watch as we find multiple agates, other colorful rocks, and a bunch of glowing yooperlites!
The light I was using is a convoy s2 and can be purchased through yooperlites.com , or there are bigger and better lights also available on the same website.
If you have too much money please support me by making a purchase on my ebay store " Jim1717 " , or by making a donation to my paypal : jimherbert17@gmail.com . I offer many fossils, crystals, and rocks.
This is my only form of income. I used to work on cars 6 days a week for 13 years straight and hated my life to the point where i developed depression- now, this is my life, and I am somewhat happier, but bills must still be paid. Almost all of my items are hand collected/ dug up by hand, and I offer rare, show quality pieces.
I currently do not make any money off youtube, but have hopes to in the future once we meet the requirements to monetize my videos, so please leave a like and subscribe. Thanks ✌

Wow! You found some nice yooperlites!
Awesome video 👍, I'm addicted to finding these Sodalites, I'd walk over pure gold to get one and I too do it with my Siberian Huskies! Your Husky looks young and happy as they are known to be! One was Red and white and my other is a Black and white! Great to see another Husky owner out Rock hunting for Sodalites and Feldspar 👍🍻
Loved this! The pup, the scenery, the sunset , the beautiful rocks !

Loved your video. And the dog is just a cherry on the top to make me laugh!!
Nice agate!
Maaaan I’m right on Lake Ontario and our rocks suck compared to yours. I wish our beaches had that variety.

My words exactly!
Beautiful specimens!
Also, I’m in love with your sassy girl. Please be careful letting her drink the water though. There are a LOT of waterborne parasites they can come in contact with tact with. Also watch for blue-green algae, which will kill her in a heartbeat. We have an app here that tracks the agal blooms but not sure if you have one for your area- worth looking into if you bring her around water a lot.
really cool, all these videos are helpful into finding what you do and where you do it. Let's see if I can rearrange what your life means to you, Jim.
Great fun I do that a lot.😊

Izzy sure is a talker. Got them zoomies at one point. Assume those Yoopers are under a blacklight at night? So cool looking. Some legit rocks up there.

Yessir it just has to be a real good blacklight not like a $15 pet stain detector light from walmart. Idk if you're into rock hounding but check out "the crystal collector" ? Quite a few cool spots around your area Colorado/new Mexico etc

Yes I believe it was the s2, I have since upgraded to the c8 👍
I know these where just founded but are they getting rarer to find? A couple made it to Alabama. I really wish I bought it.
When you fish hickory creek where do you go? I went today with my son at Gouger and we caught a smallmouth bass but were hoping for more. There were no deep pockets at all. Were you in New Lenox?

Yes middle of New Lenox pretty much. Usually the sharper corners have deeper pockets. The shaded side will hold more fish depending on time of day. A lot of rock bass and smallmouth in the straight sections but u have to have a light bait and let it float naturally. Worm and bobber aboutb6"-1ft will catch a lot

@@JimHerbertOutdoors Thanks, I'm going to give it a try again but will probably wait until next spring. It's a nice creek and only about 20 minutes from my house.
What do you do with them after you collect them?

On this trip I used the Convoy s2. I believe it is 365.
Where did you find the yooperlites?

I have hunted from grand marais to whitefish point, cant give away any exact spots but literally anywhere between those 2 spots you shouldn't have an issue finding at least a few small ones. To be honest this was my first summer trip, I prefer to go in the spring, you find more before the summer crowds hit the beaches. Those fall storms and winter ice sheets shuffle the rocks around a lot.
I need a stone like this, for my project, but I can't find it here in Brazil, could anyone sell one? I don't need a big stone, 3" would be enough.
Sir ye kaun si light hai

Ikr - everyone finds these sacred spots and then never reveils the location. Idk afraid of competition? 😢
