How is this even possible? Ive played pokemon sapphire since it came out in 2002 (not consistently but well over 2000 hours) and i have not found a single shiny in my whole life. I envy you so much Edit: UPDATE - I CAUGHT A SHINY SPEAROW LAST NIGHT IN FIRE RED, MY FIRST IN 22 YEARS LETS GOOOOO

I’m not a day 1 OG but I started playing leaf green when I was probably like 9-10. I didn’t even know shiny Pokemon were a thing until long after I’d stopped playing when sun & moon came out and a friend mentioned stuff about rare shiny Pokemon. As far as I knew, the only palette variant Pokemon to exist was the red gyarados

So just another 30 years to go?

Good luck! I'm on 22/151 for mine but I only really started last year on the quest haha, thankfully I have loved hunting Kanto shinies for a while :) currently going for the rest of the kanto starters I need for the middle and first evos, Squirtle currently! Congrats on that awesome Celebi :D

Man, seeing that rhyhorn gave me so much nostalgia. My first ever shiny was a rhyhorn i caught in the safari zone in ruby. I had no idea what was going on but i knew i had to catch it and i did. I recently moved it up to pokemon home

I finally had time to watch the whole thing, and I just wanna say that I love that you're going on this journey and wish you the best as you continue! I really like how you kept the montage of chansey fails, and also - this video really put into perspective just how much safari zone hunting you've done over the years. I remember when you said "I really don't hunt in gen 3 all that often, but I really like it. I'll probably do it more" and now you're doing a living dex. It's super cool to see!

A few years ago, I couldn't understand why people spend so much time catching Shiny Pokemon. I later on finished my Living Dex and decided to Shiny Hunt as well. It was quite a fun experience. All these different methods were actually fun, I think my favourite one is soft resetting, as it was quite easy :D I like to watch your videos as I now understand the excitement to get a shiny. Keep up the great work!

The Safari Hunts reminds me of the time I was on my way to my routine dental check up when I was just hanging out the Safari Zone and found a Shiny Rhyhorn. I ended up catching it but the craziest part was that I actually threw a rock at it first because I remember reading somewhere that throwing a rock will increase the capture rate but it's much more likely to flee. The madlass in me that day was really feeling lucky I guess. 😅

I’ve been watching shiny hunting in general though for like nearly 15 years since Abenzio if any of you remember him with his Shiny Ponyta in FR at Mt. Probably my Shiny Chansey. I completely lost it when I caught that.

Does the border turn blue when the pokemon is shiny? because when I look at my gen 3 shinies in leaf green they both have a blue screen.

Weedle was the first shiny I found in my copy of leaf green. And the first shiny to be found. I was looking for a squirtle and got bored pretty early into the hunt, like 10-15 resets max…found the weedle 2 encounters into viridian forest. But that led to me hunting for it again, but I swapped to bulbasaur. Got that in like 120 resets. Then found a shiny Eevee 165 resets. So I guess I got compensation for the now beedrill.

I got a shiny wingull in ruby watching this. The comps and playlists have been keeping me sane while hunting. These videos are awesome. Thank you. Really got me back into GEN 3.

You inspired me. I'm currently Shiny Hunting alot of Shinies in Heart Gold. Currently at 15 and plan of getting most that I want by the end of 2024! ✨

That'll make sure you stay in battle as some Growlithe has Roar which unlike with Gen 5 and onward will actually end the battle instead of forcing you to switch out a Pokémon!
