As a poker education channel I feel obligated to say " Don't try this at home kids" 3betting 22 in the SB vs BTN in general will not be profitable :)
Hey this series are the best, way better than the live play imo. Not saying live plays are not good -- it's just these exploitative ideas are very valuable. Simply excellent thought process! I really hope you make more of them. Appreciate your work!

With equity > pot odds turn, opponent has a +EV call against your specific hand. Wouldn't it benefit you to bet bigger such that his range has 0EV? With your specific hand you'd win 100% of the pot instead of 97.3%. OH WAIT when you price him in you get implied odds from him bluffing when he misses. NH Boss!🙏

hahaha. Turn shove might be better depending on a few assumptions. :)
i think the biggest problem with me is that when i get raised on the flop i always just assume its a monster hand like sets or top 2 pair... if the board were more connected like KT8r you would then expect him to raise more with top hands on the flop (instead of slow playing) to try and make it hard for you to hit your draws right? that leap of seeing the flop and reading his raise as a bluff or not is so hard for me to do as a beginner and i would normally just get scared and fold lol. love this in-depth analysis and vid!

Yes the more wet the board, the more feasible he would raise more value. Don't worry man, we were all beginners at some point, just keep learning new things and over time you will progress in your thought process :)

if this were a lower stakes game would you still try to take the same line? in general are bluffs less effective at lower stakes
@playitsmartpoker

@@ReallyBroskii no, my ranges are dynamic and I took this line specifically against this player at these stakes :)

hi , thank you, discord is in the video subscription :)
Great video. Learning a lot from your thought process. Since you are playing this hand from a purely exploitable perspective; When you say you think he has 100 % bluffs, wouldn´t it be a better play to just jam the flop, seeing as you will need protection against 100 % of hands in his perceived range?
@playitsmartpoker

thank you. If I was 100 percent certain otf he has no value then jam would be the best play. Keep in mind I had to understand and think about everything I said in this 15 minute video in less then a minute in real time while likely playing 3 other zoom 500 tables simultaneously. 🙂
Pretty sure that properly nodelocked, the solver might like your line all the way, if he underraises flop it makes sense all the way. Why not jam turn though? Aren’t we giving odds to his broadway by sizing small?

Certainly possible. He has odd against my hand but not against my range ( eg if I have kx) so I didn't think I needed to go bigger.
you should try and play some 2nl since there you cant rly put anyone on a range, like there he can easily have ak 33 or 99 in 2nl so it would be very interesting too see

Dynamic ranges involves taking into consideration who you're playing against. I would not play the same ranges vs a 500zoom reg as a 2nl player :)
Do you think A3 would make a good bluff raise on the flop? As IP.
@playitsmartpoker
Жыл бұрын
No because you will fold out hands like A4 and A5 from OOP and win alot of ev by keeping that hand in and the turn is an A giving you 2 pair with A3 to potentially stack oop

Why we assume that he has no AK here? Every GTO ranges now sugest to just call 3b w AK 30-50% BUvsBlinds nowadays.

The vast majority of players pure 4bet ako in these positions. My read on this player was he fell into this category and pure 4bet AKo here vs me.
A strong opponent understands GTO well and adapts, it's easy to add a few more KQ combos to the raising range and a few more AK preflop. Also taking any shit hand like Q5 ( which is a fold preflop even vs that size i assume ) and raising makes you so imbalaced towards bluffs it's not even funny. But if you know him to be bad and not have value range and have tons of bluffs, nice hand!

Couldnt he has A3s and 44 55 in his flop raising range ?
Do people really fold 65cc and A8ss on that flop to such a small cbet as you say at 2:27. I think theoretically they should be a call
@playitsmartpoker
Жыл бұрын
For sure many player profiles will fold those types of hands. Not everyone though
As the K2 hand, at this point I prefer turn shove. Not for the specific situation but for my entire range and strategy. Do you really want to clickrandom raise me? Here we go, click3bet and shove. And now it’s an opponent problem to play “guess” and make mistakes vs my possible really strong range. I need to attack If he try random bullsh it no sense raise or if he want to try stupid things. And I need to attack with my whole merge entire 3betting range. Oppo face a shove on the turn and now? Not my problem, only an oppo problem.
Awesome hand. But why did he call the 1/3 bet on the turn? How could he be sure to be able to place the last bet on the river?
@playitsmartpoker
Жыл бұрын
He called the turn thinking my line is very bluff heavy as many of my strong hands would trap vs flop raise or check the turn. He must have assumed I would give up the river when he raises the flop and calls a 3bet and turn bet that I would assign him a very strong range and give up my bluffs.
