This car belonged to my dad Benny Martin. In all the times we moved, we always had to move all the parts of this car. He never restored it but always refused to sell it. I’m glad someone is working on it. Would love to see it when you finish it.

Thank you for sharing the 34 Ford 5 window coupe gasser story. I grew up in Pomona, CA about a mile from the Winternationals Raceway and remember seeing those gassers run down the quarter mile , the early days of funny cars. I have a 34 ford Tudor hot rod that I love to drive and take to shows. I always wanted to run a car down the quarter mile so now I am building a car to do just that. Thanks again!

Folks saying the car is to far gone, is a perfect example of the difference between regular folks and car guys. They look at something and see junk, car guys see a jewel. They see the glass half empty, we see the glass half full. Great job on your videos.

Thanks for doing the research and telling the story of some of this cars history, I love hearing about this type of history, every old car has some kind of history. I grew up in a pretty rural area, similar to you and your dad, we didn't see as much of this stuff, as we did farm machinery and livestock, but there was a few cars, that found their way into the area, and I loved to check them out, when I could. The ones that come to mind, were a yellow 39 chevy coupe straight axle, gasser, originally built with a six cylinder and later went on to a 396 big block, I remember this car had NHRA 1/8 mile record holder painted on the rear quarter between the back of the door and front edge of the rear fender.. An orange 55 chevy 2 door sedan gasser, straight axle, radiused rear fender wells, and a 409 engine, and last but not least a fender less 34 ford 3 window coupe, channeled over the frame. but not chopped, with a nailhead buick engine, purple in color. I lost track of all these cars with time, but I do remember seeing the 39 chevy coupe for the last time, in the 80's, someone had replaced the front axle with a pinto or mustang front suspension and built a pastel blue colored street rod out of the car, almost made me cry. Probably the fate of many of these old drag cars, today I sit here and wonder where these 3 cars are, and if they still exist. Would love to see them all again! Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing this one saved!

Sick, when you think it's ok to do a car like that. Probably drove it to the track, with a bologna sandwich, a cooler full of beer. Scaring motherfusters, into rethinking. I bet it was a monster, with the Olds, especially for it's time.

"That car isn't worth anything ?? It's too far gone ??" Who TF said that ?? Some gold chainers ???? That coupe is awesome. Some people don't live in reality. Case in point --> What does an average 10 or 20 year car look like ?? If the answer is - sh*t .. ... more often than not, you are correct. Now do an 87 year old car. Good luck on the rebuild. Whatever you may do, it'll be right for the car, and you. Just move forward. Thanks for sharing !!!

I'm not sure if you watch Jonathan W channel but he took a 31 Ford 5 window coupe body that was sitting in a guys yard as yard art and built a hot rod out of it. This is what he started with and ended with but it now had a flathead cadillac engine in it instead of the straight 6 kzread.info/dash/bejne/pI6uyI9tj9aWYbQ.html
