No one, no one does it like you, Stephanie, Phillip and Lalande crew. I don't think you realize the generosity of heart it takes to do this tirelessly and with the same level of quality consistently. I can't thank you enough for daily taking me with you on your sprees, travels, and around the chateau in your cozy dressing gowns and cup of tea! Just thank you.
I’m sure the epic welly incident will not soon be forgotten. Hilarious.

Stephanie I just want to say thank you so much for The Chateau Diaries. I started watching during one of the lockdowns, and even since then, there have been too many days to count where TCD has been my friend, my company, my entertainment. The other day I actually cried with gratitude for what you do. Thank you so much. xxx

Yep containers need an air vent put on top and moisture gel put in the container to absorb moisture Otherwise anything put in those horrible containers will be destroyed rather quickly

Maybe email Natty..I don't think they have seen the messages we left here...this container idea is pretty concerning
Even after me texting and telling them on the phone to put Wellies on before they arrived…. Cause we were already ankle deep in mud ☔️ Very grateful though they let me borrow some of theirs otherwise I would have wrecked my vintage shoes🙈
I loved that you kept going back to the video of Phillip saying 'we need the Wellies'!! ☔ LOL!! Yes, he was right again!!

It is fun as I'm sure its what would have been thought and rethought throughtout the day - also fun rewatching. Almost like a Laurel & Hardy as you know its coming.
This adventure to Chambord was wonderful in spite of the weather. I really enjoyed seeing the brocante and cannot wait to see your tour of Chambord. That chateau is breath taking!! Thank you for taking us along.
Your Dutch friends seem like a fun couple. I love their style and sense of adventure. I hope they come back and visit soon.

Nikki and Melchior found Ardmore like pieces in coloring. Beautiful taste!
5:44 I agree so much! Rain is one of the most relaxing things, I’d be happy just to be next to someone I love driving all the way to a beautiful chateau. Oh, and I love the tweed jackets of you both.
Love the dry wellie’s in the trunk lol!
It's interesting in an odd way, that so many brocantes display their wares IN THE RAIN. I've noticed this when watching other " Chateau channels".
@jpfloru8669

Of course, they had prepared going to it all year or for months or for weeks. You don’t decide this ‘on the day’. Besides, in April and may the weather is notoriously unpredictable. So it could have been full sun, or a torrential downpour. My parents married on 2 May…and it snowed.
@stephaniedavis6531
27 күн бұрын
@jpfloru8669 I mean IN THE RAIN displaying the wares on the ground with no cover as it rains directly onto the objects. In "Escape to the Dream" with Terry and Ash, they have gone to brocantes where wooden furniture is left outside. Sometimes there is a roof and sometimes not. So, when it rains, the furniture is exposed to the damp, mist or rain.

@@stephaniedavis6531 Athens brocantes visited by the guys, I'm sure they've said the not so good stuff is likely to be outside, they probably just don't have room to put everything they have under cover. Presumably those folk putting their stuff on the ground don't want to invest in the cost of hiring or buying a canopy and stall 🤷♀️

Stephanie!!! that tweed jacket is amazing on you!! a beautifully structured petite fit ! comme toi !😍
I don't think you've ever mentioned the porcelain used by the Marquis and his family. It's so lovely. Am I the only one who would love to see you have a whole set large enough to use for special occasions? Have you ever thought about setting a special day to honor Henry? I don't know if you remember the date the psychic told you about Henry, but I think it would be super cool to set aside a special day just for him. ❤
I really love your editing today Stephanie, there was so much humour in it that tickled me, love to you both.
"I just want to go get chips". My girl!
Im wheezing at the weather ! 🤣🤣🤣I used to work on the brocantes selling French bicycles. This weather brings back memories and the haggling to buy things. I think the funniest thing I ever saw at 5am on a dark winter morning was 4 French men pointing torch lights into a ladies car seeing what she was going to sell- she hadnt even got out of the car and they was - all over it like a bunch of seagulls! haha Poor woman must of been thinking who are these crazy men- let me get out 😆
So hate to see a wet market, we were professional antiques dealers in the UK for more than 10 years. The effort that goes into collecting stock, getting up at stupid o'clock, paying the often expensive site fees, fuel and setting up the stall is huge. Then to be rained off is soul destroying. It was mostly fun though looking back 😊
If you can't find 3 chandeliers think about finding a pair and the third one more elaborate..putting the nicer one either in the center or at the front of the chapelle...

Please reconsider putting the books and panelling in the containers! Almost every commenter in the 'container' video warned against it due to humidity and heat. You probably didn't get those problems so much when you lived back in the 'old dart' (yes I'm Aussie), but France can be very humid.

You find appreciation & beauty in architecture, history and life wherever you go!
It rained when I visited Chambord in 2016 but it only added to the atmosphere. I loved it.
I hope you have a plan to deal with the humidity you will get in the containers. I had to store quite a lot of my belongings, including furniture in one for 8 months, and even thought the container was brand new & bone dry and in a sheltered position the damp, lots of my stuff became quite fusty - in fact I had to get rid of a lovely old pine bedding storage chest as the damp had infiltrated the wood and even after 3 months of cleaning it, airing it, etc, it smelt awful and couldn't be used.
I just came across Rebus plates on eBay. Apparently they are of French origin. There’s a puzzle or riddle on the plate. I thought it could be a good educational video for Stephanie to make like the others she’s done about Spode or Fortuny, etc. I’d never heard of this before. Just a thought for you.
The chip on your new China is easily repaired using ivory Milliput & Glaze following one of several tutorials found on KZread. ❤️🙏
Stephanie's coat or trench looks amazing!
That roof of that Chateau was beautiful.
I absolutely adored Phillips expression when Stephanie, you declared ‘my boots are completely dry inside’ while poor Philip was squishing his way down the street. What an incredibly gorgeous château can’t wait to see the full feature on your other channel. What fun day? Glad you finally got your Wellies on not a moment too late. 😂. The platter is beautiful. Well done. Sending love from LIZ in California😎🤟🏻💜💕🇺🇸
Here’s me just wondering, did you walk through that beautiful place in your mud covered boots?
Despite the rain and without wellies, it seems to have been a lovely day. The porcelain tray is beautiful. ❤
Oh chambord is very well known in france....everyone visited chambord in the region.....its really.....elegant 😊.......its just there r many chateaux in france😂 chambord is just one of them and is more popular because of it owner 😉 lately am more into villages,i like walking the empty streets of old villages in france....there is always something new to see, as much as i do like the small villages houses once you visit the inside u soon understand why chateau life was extravagant and a reason for revolutions.
The anxiety in Philip's voice during the tray-balancing act... priceless.

There was so many comments on the last video on this topic warning about the damage that containers as storage might do, that I really wish Stephanie or her cousin could address them in one of the videos. It’s really worrying the amount of bad experiences people had with containers 🫣

The smasher is really handy if you make rubarber buns, with custard and rubarb and sugar on top. You make a push with the smasher tool, on a bun made with yeast, and fille it with the other ingredienser.
We call it 'duck weather' here in Canada!
I will never in my entire life forget that double helix staircase! I went to Chambord with my French partner back in the beginning of the 1990s and it's such a magnificent Chateau!
I love the wooden table and chairs at about 13 min in. !!!
My husband and I stopped at the grocery store a year or so ago to pick up milk and bread. I thought I'd be smart and quick and just run in without getting a shopping cart because I was getting so little. I got halfway through the store, all the way to the back, when I discovered there was a sale on frozen pizzas and frozen fruit. There was no way I could carry everything so I had to make the phone call of shame. I asked him to bring in a cart and not say I told you so. A few minutes later I see him coming towards me with a big grin on his face and he very loudly calls out "So I guess you didn't need a cart!" He's never let me forget but it's all in good natured fun.
Only you could smile in the rain and the mud 😄 Lovely Day 😂
Love love love the Tweed clothing you two! Am a person who appreciates Tweed and beautifully made woollen outfits. Xxx
Philip's withering look is perfection!

You are brave souls to be out in the rain all Day. Chambord was impressive, especially the double helix staircase!
I love the flashbacks! 😆🥾🥾🥾
Stephanie I Truly admire your appreciation of what is…. And not wishing for something better or different. You appreciated the rain, the fun of the rain beating down on the tables and items, the truth of wet boots and laughing at your decision not to wear the wellies, you appreciated the view despite the weather and you were rewarded with some plates that bring back warm memories and you can add your rainy memories to those plates also ❤❤❤❤❤❤ You waited patiently for your chips and you were an all round good sport 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗😴 Lovely video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What wonderful treasures fond in the rain. I hope you both don't get sick again. That chateau is so beautiful. ❤
I was heading to the same brocante at Chambord but saw how bad the rain and just couldn't do it, 3 hr drive for me and wasn't sure if it would be a good one. darn it, it was! you are more foul weather shoppers than I
At least it makes you realise UK is not the only country that rain can spoil a day 🇬🇧
So funny to see the "we don't need the rubber boots' when clearly you did.
How cool to find those plates! I love them!❤
I love being in the rain so today is a perfect day for me. The umbrella is a perfect size for two. I thought the wall paper in the Chateau was stunning. Lunch looked very tasty, nom nom nom! XAnna

Phillips face when you said your feet were dry. Hilarious. If looks could kill. It's good the brocante was open to enjoy. I bet the vendors were pleased people brought from them.
Wellies are essential at any outdoor market.
I kinda love the water/rain falling on the pieces of porcelain. 😊
❤❤❤ I Loved this! The Rain was so Romantic
I was so much hopping you would find Philip's plate... What a day ! XXX Yves
I have to assume this vlog was recorded before you received all the comments regarding using the containers to store your belongs for an extended period. Hopefully you'll revisit this decision and find a better solution.
Stunning Chateau, and fun trip, even in the rain!
Ahhh, i was hoping to catch a glimpse of phillips parents, especially his mother.
Can I make a suggestion? Ok, china is never enough but you may also start looking for some affordable 'ancestral' portraits and french history related (Marie Antoinette, Louis XVI, Napoleon etc) personalities and rulers. It is always an expected and an essential decor for a chateau. Perhaps when you renovate the corridor you can put them there and in some guest bedrooms. It would be such an elegant period touch.
Lots of fun. Love the rainy outing. Perfect fries! Cheers!
Marvellous brocante thanks guys!
Everything was so beautiful. Thanks for taking us along
Love that lady so ready having the rain 😊
What a lovely day!!! I adore U both!!!
First time on channel. Stephanie is so happy and cheerful, even with the ‘squelching’ under foot. I love your glass half full approach to life. Phillip needs to take your lead and stop focusing on the negatives of any situation, be happy you have a great life. There was no need to keep inserting the ‘wellies’ clip, you had a point and we get it.
I have also been to Chambord. It is amazing. Thank you for the video. And the memories!
Thanks for taking us along. Rain and mud is always an adventure.
Crème brûlée and eclairs are my two favorites.
Philip I was really rooting for you to find that tray! I’m sure that one day you will come across it or at least the same pattern again! 🤞🤞🤞
Thank you so much for sharing that amazing Chateau with us, I have never seen such extraordinary architecture! ❤
Nice to watch shopping in the rain from my nice warm bed ❤
Best Brocante yet!
Merci pour la balade sous la pluie 😊❤
I love those finds and love that coat Steph!!!
I love seeing all the beautiful things they sell
Philip's warning about needing wellies would have been the same as my husbands..my response would be the same as Stephanie's.. I always find Brocantes so very expensive, especially as everytime we have had our own stall at a vide grenier, the Brocanters come round and buy everything they can at absolute rock bottom prices, then later on they are on their stall at 10 plus times the price they paid..message to self donr sell to them..sad about the weather..
Love love love the tray
That staircase is beautiful.
Oh how I wish I was there!!! Much Love
