I had a slow leak on one of my tires on my F150. Never found the cause because the leak was so slow and I knew it was not a nail or anything like that. When I had new tires put on the leak stopped, all 4 hold the same pressure over time

Omg thank you!!!!!!! I was driving around with an 18 psi back tire. Was supposed to be 33. My electric stuff is broken so the tire light is on all the time anyway so I didn’t notice. I just went through the steps and I have 3 friggen leaks 🤦‍♀️. Thanks again looks like I need a new tire 😂

Thanks for the nice video. Last year I had a crack on the rim of my MB E550 wheel and the tire shop had it repaired for about $120 US (I think this involved grinding, welding and sanding). Just last week I had a leak at 1 psi/day, but in the last couple of days it stopped, so I'm thinking that can't be a new wheel crack, probably rim bead leak that fixed itself after some driving.

It takes some time, but you can usually find it. It’s really hard to see. The bath tub was the next option ha ha

Sometimes it’s the chrome plating that also wears off if you have chrome wheels. Good luck!

Could this rim issue happen with a completely new car with only 1900kms on it? I have a slow leak on my front right tire and I noticed a wobble in it already from the FIRST week of buying this completely new car. I also still notice a wobble RIGHT after I leave gas station and putting the recommended 33 psi for ALL tires. The wobble even after being completely reinflated gives me a bad feeling its not just a leak but maybe a rim or worse

It’s possible. With 22” wheels there isn’t a lot of sidewall protection so they crack with one minor pot hole or driving over a curb (by a lot tech)

Dude we never found our leak , after 3 tire shops and many people looking at me like I was crazy. It only leaked when the car was in motion. It wasn’t a small leak either and once Parked it wouldn’t leak at all .

Did you just get a new wheel? It could be the valve stem or perhaps a crack that only leaks enough when the weight of the car is on it. The bathtub test is probably the best way to go

Danny Johnson’s Garage i bought a new rim and tire but I really want to know what was causing the air leak and if it’s repairable. It’s honestly the third rim we have replaced but it’s the first time where the tire shops can’t figure out why it leaks (The steel rim is on a 2010 Chevy Malibu & it’s design is star shaped)

couldnt that also be dirt or small rocks in the seal..? could try and deflate the tire clean the wheel and tire and reinflate it

This was definitely a crack. You can see the bubbles coming out of the metal not just around the rim. Some cars with chrome played wheels will have the chrome wear off and it will leak, but this was a crack for sure

Hi i had a question. My mt15's front tyre keeps losing air pressure . I filled up 30 psi in the front, got it measured at a tyre shop after 15 days and it showed 24. Idk why does it keep losing air so easily. I changed the tyre and still same issue. No punctures, no holes. Yet this keeps happening. Please help. I don't even see bubbles on the rim

If the wheels have a chrome finish, it can wear off on the inside of the rim. Or there could be a small screw or nail or the rim could be bent

@dannyjohnsonsgarage Alloy rims. I'm doubting it's bent somewhere. Tried using soap water but no visible bubbles. Tyre keeps losing air by 3-4 points in 15 days. Honestly it's so annoying

I have the exact same rims. I slid on snow and ice while making a turn but didn't hit anything. However now my tire is loosing all its air withing a few hours. I thought perhaps the beads seal is broke.

If you add air and it continues to lose air over time, it could have cracked just from freezing

It can be welded and the new owner of them did fix them to my knowledge.
