My 3 sons and I have started diving in our rivers finding old bottle. It’s been such a fun thing to do together. My sons would lose their minds if they found some stoneware like that.😂.

I know what you mean, I'm sure it's to do with the shifting shape and depth of the mud or silt. After some strong spring tides this can happen. Ultimately we were in the right place at the right time 😊

Back in the 70's they were constructing a highway through the 1600's section of Philadelphia PA. This was a tunnel section so a lot of dirt was excavated. Combing through the spoils excavations we found tons of broken onion bottles but never a whole one, it's still on my bucket list. Simultaneously while this dig was going on there was major construction going on in Madagascar, the pirate capital of the Indian Ocean. The dug up SO many onion bottles that the market flooded and prices dropped like a rock. The excavation in Philadelphia wasn't all a bust though, we did come away with our share of Spanish and colonial coinage. Then one day they dug up 3 cannons, that's when digging stopped, fences went up and security was hired. Our scavenging days came to an abrupt stop. You wouldn't happen to know of anyone who has a working time machine do you?

I literally teared-up when you found the bottle! So so happy for you guys!! 💓

Stunning Onion Bottle,amazing how the sea has washed the bottle over the centuries to turn certain highlights matt and certain parts clear,impossible to fake and the pontil scar is quite amazing,makes you wonder if it came off a wreck,could be more lurking.A wide range of ages in the bottles as well.Something mega is awaiting you in that area.Dug Victorian tips for 35 years and loved every minute of it All the best Bob.

Oh my goodness a complete onion bottle. That's amazing, the closest I've seen was when Nicola found one in pieces and glued it together. Fabulous find.🙂💜💜

Yes traveling light is good especially when putting boards on your feet and they're walking basically with mud under their feet because the water has receded and then it's got to be low tide but they got some great finds I love these videos it's awesome I started watching One video and then now I'm hooked 😁😁👍👍

Loved this. How lucky are you both to enjoy this together. I was born on Father’s Day and this year, my birthday falls on Father’s Day. Sadly, I lost my poor Dad 12 years ago. He would have totally been up for some mudlarking! Love your enthusiasm!

I used to have foot warmer when i was very young mum put a large cork in it but had to be careful as it would burn your feet so she wrapped it up in a T-towel luvly

Just had a thought for what it's worth, the cork in the neck of that bottle is probably to get a tight fit with one of the glass stoppers Mudlarkers are always finding, I'm 77 and I remember my Dad's sauce bottles had this cork lining with those lovely glass stoppers, we used to use the tops for our board games easier to move than picking up flat pieces. I was having another look at your round up.

Absolutely amazing that the Onion Bottle can sit in the ocean bottom for about 300 years and you pulled it up in perfect condition.

What an amazing mudlarking session! After reading your title, waiting it out till you found the long coveted treasure, was almost agonizing. I'm sooo happy that you did find a whole onion bottle! 😊 I'm sure that other mudlarkers, no matter how nice they are, have all turned a bit 🟢 with envy. I like the rest of your finds too. It was an amazing haul. What is the next thing you both are really hoping to find?

Awh thanks so much! We really were ridiculously lucky. Hahaha glad it was worth sticking around for! 😍 I suppose next on the bucket list would have to be something Roman, a complete torpedo bottle, a bellarmine jug, + anything beautiful and stoneware as we just do love finding them! Hey guys i have been digging bottles for about 30 years in Australia & love watching you vids of bottle digging, BUT that was the best bottle video I have ever seen. The onion bottle is just beautiful, so much history & love the fact it was Father & Daughter together. Well done, loved it.

Wow!!!!!! I know that feeling. It’s how I felt when I found my first poison with embossed skulls. Wow guys!!!!!! Holy cow!!! I wish I was in England!!!

Ayyy that’s a lovely comment, thank you! It’s just such a wonderful hobby and way to spend time together. You can just totally lose yourself in it, we often say how quickly time goes by when mudlarking/treasure hunting... We’ll be out for 4 or 5 hours but it feels like 1!
