don't think it was a bottle, probably a 'weight' for the scale.

I was going to say the same. It's a way to measure the weight of something. One side the weights have like gram markings on and on the other side would be the item ur weighing.

With Angry Lion there is a lip on the inside of the inner box that the "nose/mouth piece locks into. Reason you need to move it up while pressing on the brow section. Very cool and clever design!

Roses are red, violets are blue, puzzles are puzzles because you should never tell people what they do.
In French, we have the expression "lion's wrinkle" for the wrinkle that appears in the middle of the forehead when you frown. It goes well with the angry lion puzzle 🦁
Your intros are so incredible. People do not understand the amount of work you put into those. As a videographer, I appreciate it
Im making a magic the gathering deck case right now that's modular from 3d printed parts. Getting the 5 compartments to lock together is proving hard. Ive been watching your puzzle vids for a long while now and am currently rewatching your wood puzzles to find inspiration to solve my problem. those makers are next level and like you said have mastered the simplicity of connections, which is exactly what I'm trying to find. thanks for your content.
Yeap still on a Chris Ramsay binge lol. Both channels have me hypnotized and I am just enjoying it. Also, in love with magic videos. Can not do it to save my life, but I love watching it and the behind the scenes of it. Thank you for just existing lol

Chris, you need to figure out how to plan a trip to the place they make these things in Japan. I’m fascinated by the wood, is there just a giant communal pile they grab from?Miyazaki-esque puzzle drawings on the walls? Do they collaborate? Is it a puzzle office space? Do they have dope little saws and tools and little magnifying ocular Ben Franklin glasses things? Get to Japan, do a vlog. 😂 you’re awesome, keep up the cool stuff brotha.
Beautiful craftsmanship as always! I enjoy all puzzles that could potentially be useful. Like these(and most other Karakuri puzzles) you can hide your things inside them if you wanted to. It gives puzzles more of a point rather than solving them just to solve them. However, I love all puzzles either way

10:09 Chris calling bottles to thing that are not bottles pt. 2😂. Great video. That lion one was so cool. I didn't expect the nose to rise showing the teeth 😍

Love the videos always entertaining to watch!!!
Awesome and chill videos, Chris. And congrats on your collaboration with Bicycle!
Video aesthetics over 9000. I love it
on the lion the mouth lock or holds the bottom of the box in the little groove!! You can watch the nose or mouth piece lift when you push the box back in.

Congrats on the collab with Bicycle, Chris! 🍾👍
Those boxes are so good for saving money, nobody would ever think it’s able to open or that there’s even anything inside of it
Grats on the bicycle collaboration! Huge!!!
Isn't the Lions nose on the inside holding onto a notch in the box? It pushes up when you put it back in, doesn't look like it detaches the magnet.
@Fynelol
Жыл бұрын
Correct, there’s a notch on the inside bottom and if you raise it too high it gets caught on his brow. The magnet just helps hold it in place so you have to push the brow to open it otherwise it would just fall out. You just have to raise the nose up past the bottom row of teeth like the lion is snarling :)
Really liked the little lion puzzle.
Love your work it inspired me to make some of my own puzzles and I collect cards I have the vertigo cards from Art of play such a good magician
I also got the sliding panel and what you mentioned about focusing on the wrong side happened to me. The wrong side has more give than the side with the magnets, so it’s super easy to just focus on the wrong one. Took me 15 minutes to figure that out. Lol.

“Slide down Slide up Flip it around There we go” Sounds like song lyrics!
I'm wondering if the "red herrings" on the scale one was what you'd use to access the mechanism for assembly or maintenance...
@EnjoyPA
Жыл бұрын
I was thinking it was a way to engage a mechanism to open the less obvious panel on the opposite side, possibly by tipping the scale the other way.
That was totally interesting, who would have known that one to two simple steps and poof it’s open.. I’m sure I would have probably taken a hammer to it… just kidding… but very cool puzzles.. Can’t wait for the next one.. As well I am seriously happy for you, being able to do a colab with Bicycle, they have been around for a long time now.. Congrats Chris..

Imagine Chris Ramsay breaking into your house and you have Japanese puzzles all over the place holding your money😂
I’ve just received my Black Edition 1st Bicycle deck in the post as I was watching this video 👌🏼
Of all people I figured you would have known the "bottle" is actually a counter weight which is a scale thing. Great video
The fact that the next 1st cards are coming out on the 25 and my B-day is the 22 that means I can save up( also Chris love your vids and the creativity that you show with your intros is amazing❤)

"This is already looking pretty simple *Fails*"
That’s strange. I also have the balance puzzle but there’s no sliding panels on the side. Wonder if they changed the design or maybe I bought an imitation? I did buy it off eBay so who knows.
@Klamageddon
Жыл бұрын
Those sliding panels that you slide sideways then down are very typical of traditional puzzle boxes from Hakone. (I was getting a bit frustrated watching that he 'didnt' try pushing them down as well at first, because it's just such a common technique!) I think if it was included, it could either have been that it was a little red herring / joke (because, it's so common that you'd think, ahh, this again, but then it's unrelated) OR, possibly Chris's was from an early prototype, that had been built from an existing box? Not sure. Very strange!
I'm getting a couple of those 1st bicycles as soon as they drop. Good 3 week late bday present for myself. Lol

Maybe he has never seen a real scale before.
Awesome
I gotta try some bicycle first, then I’ll try wes 2nd street magic
I believe the scale is my favorite but my second favorite is the second one you did but on the scale you called that little button to the left a bottle I believe that would represent a weight that you put on one side if the scale really work. I have seen real scales that do this except for the drawer in the front and they have a small set of different sized weights that looks similar to what's on that scale puzzle. Very interesting. I see these as putting your stash in actually. Thanks for the video. Stay vigilant! PS actually sense I subscribe to this channel this is the first long video that I've seen besides the shorts
