None of this helps me in any way. I need a cut to my weekly fuel and food.
'Taking pressure off'. What utter bollocks.
‘Struggling Australians’- I’m struggling to see how it will help anyone?
They need to pass a law stopping the energy companies increasing each power bill by $300!

I have 12kw of solar panels and a 12kw battery and still they came at me with a $400 bill. $30,000 to install the system and I'm still paying for electricity.

If the government really wanted to help struggling Australians it would cut immigration to under 50,000 per year. This budget does stuff all......

How is that going to make a difference? Australia is crying out for skilled workers, which immigrants can supply.
@Ghryst

How about stopping it altogether for 5 years! 🤷
The 300 dollars is just a a false narrative. They should be reducing the cost of energy, the cost of food, the cost of fuel, the cost of housing, the cost of education etc… Andrew Charlton has no idea just like Canberra has no idea about regional cost of living and no reception for data or phones. That money could have been better spent on the community for other supposed projects. Could we please have an audit or review about this budget which seems to be a cash splash for jobs for the boys, as per usual. Just saying for a friend. 🙏
To all who celebrated albo winning thinking all your problems were solved... two wings of the SAME BIRD
The priority should be for next generations to be able to afford to BUY a house. There's no hope for them.
The budget does not fix inflation or cost living woes. It just delays cost of living woes until this hand out ceases.
Why energy rebate for everyone? Why do billioniaires need $300?
@dekumutant

This is genuinely the most scattershot complaint. We don't complain about other subsidies rich people get. Yet now the gov is giving a concession to everyone the response is "WHY ARE YOU GIVING HANDOUTS TO BILLIONAIRES". This country is genuinely doomed if this is the calibre of criticism a democracy delivers.

In double sided accounting system if you have government surplus on the left you need to have a deficit on the right... guess who's on the right side - Australian people and businesses ... This is not an opinion but a fact !! Government surplus always takes money out of the society. Government budgets MUST be outcome oriented and not surplus oriented !!

Won't someone please think of the politicians like Lambie, Hanson, Joyce, Katter etc struggling on hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, plus bonuses and perks. Where else is the MINIMUM base salary starting at $225,000pa?
what about pensioners not every pensioner has energy bill to pay nothing apart from a low increased in rental and even that it is not that all pensioners pay rent
rich still getting richer, government paying for power which they own most of anyway, and if they don't they are supporting very high eletricity cost from private companies, in one pocket and out of another. Same with rent, government paying for greedy home owners, why why why

Are Pensions Getting Anything
the cost of living will be "under control" when the cost of living returns to what it was trending towards pre-2019. my electricity bill and rent has already gone up this year, not to mention food, when albo brings those prices back to what they were then it will be "under control". not before. dont forget - labour overspending and nation-wide lockdowns during covid is the reason we are in this mess now
Where's the cost of living help??

Nothing for young people and working families.
Number 1 Priority is to Ease the Cost of Living, which is why we are Lowering the Tax Free Threshold by $1000 after 2 years of record inflation. But don't worry, Millionaires also get a $300 Energy rebate.
