Way back when it was brand new I was at the beginning of my trip to be a real-life geophysicist we got introduced to Google Earth and I've been hooked since. It's an amazing tool/game/time waster and it's _fun._ I ended up donating a little work for it. I assume you use the desktop Pro version? Then you showed the geology pr0n. That first shot after the hoist was sweeeet. **wolf whistle** Jeff, thanks so much once again and we'll see y'all next time.

Sure looked like a well drilling rig. From the axle on the front, I suspect it was converted and dragged up there with a tractor. Probably intended to use it as a hoist. After dragging it all over, it was probably so beat up that it wasn't worth dragging out.

I use it in Microsoft flight simulator 2020. I fly bush planes and ultra lights round Virginia city and many other locals in Nv. and Ca. all in vr with proper yolk, pedals and motion platform cockpit. Been doing that in the winter months waiting for the ol sunball and now it is a great way for me to start looking for gold prosects.

5-6 years ago my buddy and I repelled down a 187' vertical shaft to a series of horizontal ones... crazy day. We had good gear, but my buddy took a rock to the helmet that ricocheted off and slit his wrist on his way down. Good thing we had cayenne pepper to coagulate... dudes a real bad ass- ex Navy seal- and he proved it that day. I climbed out injury free and it was a BIOTCH, he did the last half going up with a gushing wound. Pulled a few quick samples and it turned out to be an almandine mine. Spent most of my geology career in underground coal mines, so I’ve forgotten a lot about hard rock geology. If it is green, it may be chlorite, epidote, peridotite, or pyroxene.

Green on basalt. Is that chlorite? I see greeny looking basalt around Arthurs seat in Edinburgh. Lots of red quartzite to with areas where its turning to clay.

OK Jeff I'm intrigued, I'm no geologist, more of a chemistry twister, so what is the Green Mean? Without knowing any My first guess is good to be limestone, or alge being broken down that once was a water source, that switched its position within the inner and outer crust being converted as a push and pull, leading to a new element to catalyst to the end element

Hey Jeff, I have a question for you. I don't remember if it was one of your videos but it was a hack to determine whether the gold shiny specks in your gold pan were actually gold or mica. I think it said if the gold specks migrated to the center of the pan when you swirled the water around, it indicates it is mica. I tried google to find the video because it was a while ago I watched the video and I wasn't certain how mica behaved in the gold pan, but I couldn't find the video that answered my question. Thanx

That’s probably the test drilling rig they drug up there and when they got the samples back did they did the Walter Huston and didn’t care what the machine cost and started mining till they were so rich they retired… is that specimen and the gold in the pan what you got from your samples for real ???? Or have you gone back and been inside the mine and that’s where it came from…. Thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼

Jeff, I live near a heavy volcanic area with an abundance of lava flow fields etc. It seems to me, after listening to you with how geology pushes new flows/fill upwards, that these areas could be rich in gold material. Is it possible to identify desirable areas to prospect in lava flow areas? Thanks! Love your videos!

It's a rig for drilling cores to locate best gold areas and I can see they used a wide belt to run the drawworks from the engine, the derrick on top is a inline set up with that iron plate on bottom, but if inclined and you needed a hoist or a crane type system could be achieved by anchoring and some pulleys and such multi pulleys would build more strength but keep in mind the thickness of cable verses the load ..Lance from Texas, from the crown to below the ground ..I savie ...I got a question on this lode mine in Colorado I bought..be cool if you give me just a little advice, other than that me and my family enjoy and enjoyed all you do.. without you I'd be way dumber..luv from Texas..
