Find a Path or Make One | A conversation with JL Collins

Ойын-сауық

In this episode we chat JL Collins about his book 'Pathfinders' and the impact it has had on the financial independence movement. He shares stories from the book that highlight the diversity of paths to financial independence and the importance of adapting the principles to one's own circumstances. But first, we discuss how JL caught the attention of comedian Hasan Minhaj and got him to write the foreword for Pathfinders.
JL goes on to emphasize the need to embrace failure and learn from mistakes along the journey to financial independence. We discuss the concept of quality of life and conclude with a cautionary tale about the dangers of living paycheck to paycheck, even with a high income.

I really found value in how you all broke down the concept of the 15-year career. I don't believe that I've heard of that concept before but will do more research because it does make sense and seems like a practical goal to strive for. I definitely don't understand how anyone would consider working hard for 10 - 15 years as " too long or too much"; especially when you compare it to the normal route.
