Hey Lax, just a litlle bit of context. When the charachters refers to France, they are reffering to WWI at this time the main front of the war was happening in north-east France where Allied Forces (mainly French and British soldiers) fought the Germans.

I just saw the first episode and I'm back.. this was a good episode and a good plot twist for a beloved and tragic character

Tommy , Arthur ,& John Shelby are the leaders of the Peaky's . Freddy saved Tommy's life in the war so they are like Brothers. All 3 fought brutally in WW1 in france ,so they are mercilesss killers who have already killed hundreds in the war .

The robbery happened in London, not Birmingham, which is 125 miles away. He sent 4 men to London to steal some motorbikes and they brought back the wrong crate.
