Only 18% of federal taxes goes toward defense and security budget. And the tiniest of tiny fractions of that goes toward these innovative airframes. And unlike government personnel pay, the money that goes toward projects like these isn’t wasted because this is why we’re still free. Edit: holy shit 60 comments 😂 y’all wild

@@cameron7498 The potency of the F-22 is mostly from just existing. It's as much of a deterrent as the nuclear arsenal. The vast majority of the F-15C combat kills come from other countries that fly them. With a record of 104-0, it was not to be messed with, but you still need to stay ahead. The F-22s have taken over for F-15s doing intercepts out of Alaska when Russia wants to probe our response sending bombers and surveillance planes into our airspace. Now Russia and China are making their own 5th Gen planes.

Electrician here! I wired the platforms those jet engines were assembled on. I got to see some of the assembly process. It was awesome! Some of the parts were cooled by liquid nitrogen to shrink them then put into place and heated, the part expanded and was now installed. They used cranes on beams in the ceiling to move each engine from one platform to the next. On each platform there was a giant circular lift in the center of the workspace. 4 lifts on each side to lift carts/ materials ect and workstations for 4 techs to do their work... countertops w/ tv's and outlets... their tools were job specific. Each tech had his tools in foam cutouts at the worksstations. It was really cool to be a part of.

Because ISIS and similar groups are operating in tents and caves, not flying the skies. The F22 is an air-to-air jet, not air-to-ground. By the time the F22 was in operation, it had no opponents in the sky. The only war we were in was a ground war with terrorist organizations. It’s deterred some potential conflicts, but hasn’t been in any fights that we know of. That’s just how it turned out.

Untrue. The computing power of the US has left the USSR and China in the dust. They can’t even steal it fast enough. There is no race. It is an illusion propped up by KZread bot videos proclaiming the superiority of Russian and Chinese technology. As they fall behind, faster and faster, their only hope is nuclear blackmail. That is the scary part.
