Toyota vans did this years ago, Honda too with their vans for JDM. Maybe decades ago. Nothing new except for electrification.
Good grief. A company as great as VW teaming up with Ford to build a vehicle. This is not a great move in my opinion. A positively ridiculous move as the history of the transporter vehicles has proven to be a fantastic product. Teaming up with Ford is just going to prove an absolute nightmare. Volkswagen are known for their German quality engineering, and definitely safety. This is not a good move at all.
