    For anyone interested, I’m using this with a Sonoff hub and works great most of the time, but around once a week it will go offline / become unresponsive. The only solution I’ve found so far is to reset and repair the relay. There was another update to the hub firmware this week to ver 1.6.0, but, it has just gone offline again, so looks like problem not solved. Great vid though 👍

    This looks like just what I need, sort of. Thanks for the really clear review. I’ve successfully installed my first two way smart switch (Candeo Zigbee dimmer) but it was three times the price of this and I had to replace the other 2-way switch with a retractive one. I think I’ll get a few of these for any one-gang switches I have. Be nice if they functioned as a router but I understand why they can’t. My question is - can I wire it behind 1 ‘gang’ of a 2-gang switch somehow ? I have lots of two / three way 2/3 gang switches and wondered if I could smarten them by adding one of these at a different switch on each location ?

  • @notenoughtech

    @notenoughtech

    2 жыл бұрын

    With 2/3 gangs obviously, you'd need either more space or another device. Another approach is to mount it in the ceiling where you are likely to have an access to the L & N. You may also have more space there - so worth visiting this option

    Are they? If you look at this you will see that ZB devices were one of the least consuming devices. Its hard to measure the consumption as well due to how they are linked in the system. Yes, I have tested this functionality. I already have it on my desk. This module can connect to the Philips HUE Bridge as a regular "On/Off light". On my blog Domotica.cz there is a small review and also an experience with the Philisp HUE Bridge

    Magic ;). All circuits leak current and that's enough to power a device which can take advantage of this

    @@notenoughtech I live in Italy but the house is cabled like an UK one. Maybe the electrician was English 😂, I only have 3 options. 1) This module, 2) bring a neutral wire myself to every switch box. 3) using the parallel diode trick in the switch box, and hide normal mini with an optocoupler at the ceiling lamps.

    @@photocromax For 3) If it is the UK style with power and switch wire to each ceiling rose why do you need extra stuff if you wire the Sonoff in at the ceiling?

    Ceilings are often tighter to work in. Its possible to use L and N switches but I often find that I don't have the space and would need a new rose fitting to increase it. Plus I'm all for options and choice
