But then she says it is at the end of the video and I'm shocked she's so good, comfortable in front the camera, speaks very clearly and easy to understand, I can't tell if she scripted most of this or just had some notes of features to touch and winged it either way it worked this way a fun video and I would watch another one she wants to make definitely fun to see videos on other hobbies and still a tech device so it feels on brand just expanding the genre if you will. Great vid can't wait to see more.

Commercial grade would be quite a bit larger. I would say it is closer to pro-sumer than pro, but slightly better than consumer. The proprietary software is sadly true and a downside. But I think their competitors also use proprietary software. We need linus and Yvonne to put pressure on them to open things up. Hopefully eventually there'll be a open source option, but it requires developers to have that as a itch to scratch and I suspect that it is too niche for that atm.

Great intro to Cricut cutting machines. I got my first over four years ago on a great deal when I was working at Michaels (the crafts store): I had downloaded their old software to try to connect to the machine we had in the classroom, and since they were sunsetting that software, they gave me a huge disyon buying a machine that used their current software (Design Space). I agree with the posters that have issues with the subscription model and the limits placed on nonsubscribers (fewer built-in shapes, limited design organization). At the time, I bought the machine so I could better answer my customers' questions. I did recently upgrade to the original Maker on clearance pricing for the additional tools. Had I started with cutting machines for any other purpose, and dinner the research, I probably would have chosen Silhouette for the same reasons other customers mention (not to mention, the paid version of their software has proper design tools that Design Space lacks). Generally, I design in either Illustrator or Inkspace and upload my designs when I'm ready to cut them.
