Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Part 5 of diary of an enlisted man in Germany's army, who served on both the Eastern and Western fronts and was wounded four times before being captured in 1944. After a highly unpleasant stay in a French POW camp, he was turned over to American authorities and sent to the U.S., where he spent a comparatively comfortable 14 months in several POW camps. Repatriated in 1948, He worked as a dental technician until his death. @@WW2Tales I guess the reason you get a drop in views is because they are easier to find. When they are harder to find , like me they stumble from video to the other. That's why you get so many views. I only made the above comment a few hours ago and 20 people agree with me and my guess there are a lot, lot more. Sorry to come across harsh, but this is frustrating. Can you advise me how to save the links to the other chapters? Finding the link when I come back is the problem here.

I’m watching this again, or listening to it, rather simply because I love this series & Hellmut. I 😂 he and his comrades are so funny and they’re always talking about food, and I feel so bad for them because even when Germany was doing their best before the war and early in the war, they still never ever ate like the Americans.. we grew enough food here during World War II, David Americans, British POWs & Russia

Excellent photography picture 📷 enabling viewers to better understand what the orator was describing. With the change of occupation forces in Paris. The war for Germany was quickly deteriorating & coming to a climatic ending. Miracle weapons. V-2 🚀 wasted on Britian/instead put to better use launched at the approaching Russians. ME-262 fighter jets were available for missions. Had fuel & experienced pilots been available. According to German fighter ace " Adolph Galland ". In his memoirs published after WW-2.

I thought this one seemed familiar until suddenly I was able to predict what happened and then I remembered that this one was part of World War II stories before that channel went under. A lot of it was ringing as familiar but starting in the middle of the last episode I knew I'd heard it all before. It's good that a new audience will get to hear it because that channel is gone so there should be some place to hear this. Also I want to mention again that the closed captioning is ridiculously bad on these last couple of episodes. I'm not trying to be a complainer but I need the closed captioning to be able to keep up. .Edit- I should point out that the closed captioning on this one is good but the previous two were very messed up.😊

I believe the image you feature here is a Canadian - or possibly British - solider escorting two German prisoners (perhaps on D-Day cuz of the sand, or in Holland?). Given the last 3-4 video journals concerned the effort to move west and surrender to the Americans instead of the Russians in 1945, it’s quite an oversight no?

@@WW2Tales thank you. You were very quick to respond to my much earlier requests for the best AI voice and I very much appreciate that. It was the voice that World War II stories used to use and it always elevated the subject matter. I know that the narration gets off sometime but I'm okay with that but the closed captioning is actually important for me because I have a hearing problem. After the war, very few Soviet soldiers would have been brave or crazy enough to attempt to preserve an honest account of their activities during the war. There were endless purges in that totalitarian state, countless people accused of cowardice, disloyalty, collaboration, subversion... The best survival strategy during the Stalin years was to go unnoticed.
