Yeah, Northlane kinda pioneered the ambient Djentcore sound.

Quantum flux is still one of the best metalcore songs in existence. I love both eras of Northlane but the Adrian era definitely has a very special place in my heart.

This album will still feel fresh to me in 2050

This album shapped so many metalcore bands that exist now. Top 3 albums of all time. Favorite Northlane album for sure next to Alien.

Awesome to see you continuing to listen through Northlane's discography. They were so damn unique with Adrian. Still are with Marcus but it was just such a huge sound at the time this came out because nobody could do lows like Adrian (and honestly still can't) lol

It was really cool to go back and see how they started and how ahead of their time they were. I'm super interested to hear what the next era sounds like with Marcus now!

LOVE love love that you're keeping on with this discog run thru - Same boat as you honestly, hard to pick between Discoveries and Singularity. You're in for a real treat with Node and Mesmer though, tons of badass tracks that I just really don't see getting a ton of recognition by many anymore. Thank you David, can't wait for what ya got cookin up next 🤘

Discoveries is on another level. Still can't believe it's a debut album ☠️🔥

Hey how familiar are you with the first 2 Invent Animate albums, Everchanger and Stillworld? If you're digging Adrian era Northlane you will LOVE those first 2 Invent Animate albums. Their old singer Ben sounded a lot like Adrian, and it's kind of funny how both bands recruited a new singer named Marcus lol.

I've already heard those unfortunately. When IA was getting a lot of hype after the Sun Sleeps I went and checked out their whole discography on my own. Definitely should have done it on the channel in hindsight lol Fantastic records though!

Northlane, Invent Animate, and ERRA. Their first 2 albums are sick! It was different, not only cause of vocalist change but their music tho

Highly recommend checking out divination from in hearts wake if you haven’t already!

The timing of that intro riff inDream Awake is still one of the catchiest grooves I've heard in anything djenty

Marcus' vocal rendition of Singularity is what basically got him into the band, so be sure to check that out if you haven't already!

Absolutely changed the game in a lot of ways. Same year as Semperternal. 2013 had it going on lol. But to be completely honest, it's only uphill from here. I love all 6 albums, but to me, this transition makes Northlane my favorite band. I prefer their 2nd half. Not to diss on the first half, Love Adrian. Without him, life would be different Ranking: Mesmer / Alien / Obsidian/ Singularity / Node / Discoveries Mirrors edge might be my favorite thing they've put out, but that's soaked in recency bias. Plus it's a EP. 🤷‍♂️ Appreciate the album reaction 👌🏻
