As a Fujifilm photographer, I always tell those other photographers who use Sony/Nikon/Canon cameras that they don't need to switch system. But adding a Fujifilm camera into their system and shooting with it for personal use will make an impact on their creativity. Many photographers who use for the first time a Fujifilm camera always say it made them fall in love with photography again; all because of the analogue photography experience and colours they get straight out of camera. Fujifilm may not have the best LL and DOF capabilities but this is what makes it beautiful; its limitations and how you can make beautiful photos with it despite its limitations. My exact thought when contemplating what to do with the Sony. Love the rangefinder-esque EVF and paired with a manual focus lens it really is great. Super stoked to shoot with the fuji and see what a true photographers camera (the budget option at least, compared to leica) is like and what it will bring for me. My thought process exactly. I have a Sony, A7R5 that is fantastic for when I need ultra high resolution for landscapes or whatever. But the X100V goes with me everywhere, and I know the same will be true of the X100 VI that I is being shipped to me tomorrow. The Sony is like a premium easel + studio. The Fuji is like a sketchpad. Different horses for different coures.

My A7C ii is on its way. Got the 24 and 50 gm glass too. A creative work opportunity came my way and I just wanted the look and the capability. Gonna get the 35mm sammy pancake for family days out. But yeah, I love the Fuji colours. There’s literally no better camera for replacing your phone as an everyday carry. I’ll get one when funds permit. Can’t wait to see your photos with it. Dude literally me - i shoot A7rV and Fx3 professionally, just ordered the X100VI as my first Fuji. Same reasons too - less commitment, easy run & gun shooting.

Haha thats so interesting. Its going to be a breath of fresh air for both of us. The x100vi was only really worth it to me with the new sensor and ibis, otherwise didnt really care too much about the OG one.

I am sure you will be happy with Fuji , I have the latest camera from Nikon , Canon , Sony ,Leica and still use and love the color from very old models Fuji Xt1 😍

A thing that is a bit perplexing to me is that people keep saying that the fixed prime lens is one of important factors driving them to the X100 cameras. I have an X-T5, and I can just put a prime on it, not change it, and then I have a "fixed" prime. I guess if I really wanted to limit myself, I could glue the lens in place. Voila! fixed lens! That being said, I preordered an X100VI on Tuesday. I can hardly wait.

Bro I respect that we are all entitled to our own viewpoint and I’m not even gonna debate you on what you said because that would be contradictory to what I just said. I would just encourage you to maybe think about why our amazing japanese brothers at Fujifilm would create these two wonderful but different cameras and you might as a result unperplex yourself lol. Nonetheless happy you ordered one!

Get a leica 50mm summilux for your sony. You will love it!!!

Have an X100VI coming as well! Had an M11 for a couple years and sold it for another camera….but miss having a daily like the M. Ultimately I really wanted autofocus on the M for the quick moments that were impossible to grab w manual. I think the x100VI ticks all the boxes 😊

Glad you're not leaving Sony. I wanted a Fuji as well a while back but once I picked one up in my hand and hated the non existent grip on it I was glad I had m Sony a6500 and a6000. It was a big no sale for me. Sure the colors look great but..... Nah. Sony always wins in AF as well so thats why I love Sony.

Yeah bro Sony is staying for so many reasons. I once checked out but never bought a XE series fuji, i think it was the xe-3 and i remember putting it down right away because it just felt like a cheap plastic toy. I dont think the x100 will feel like that at almost 600 grams but of course i will report back in another video.

The image quality difference between today’s APS-C and FF is not going to be noticeable unless viewing on at least a large 8k screen, printing larger than 36 inches or shooting above ISO 3200. I say this as someone who owns a 43mp FF camera, Fujis and M4/3. Shot under the same conditions there is no detectable difference on my 4K 28 inch screen. Too many KZreadrs reflexively talking about “upgrading” to FF, without realising most large displays show only about 8mp or less.

Yes of course. The hobby shooter/youtube photographer should not be concerned and 24mp is surely enough. Don’t forget to mention that FF offers an advantage in LL and DOF. Dynamic range is also much better. Look at what you do or plan to do with your creative expression and plan accordingly is my best advice.

@@xhynetuseinovski well my path “fuji-curious” started like yours, but a canon shooter vested in the eco system. Loved Leica glass, didn’t care for the digital bodies. Love the m11p but like anything digital, susceptible to “digital rot”. The Leica film bodies are as timeless as classic cars. Loved fuji bodies, I.e. premium aps-c, but didn’t want the glass eco system. So now I have a x100v with the wide angle adapter (makes it a 28mm). An xt3 with a summilux 50mm An xt3 with a 28mm summicron. Since voightlander came out with a manual focus f2 27mm (40 mm equiv) pancake lens, I paired it with a used fuji XE4. That combo fits in my jacket pocket! It took me the two years in the pandemic to learn the fuji system thru and thru, but it was worth it. I really understand Fuji’s vision. The x100VI is a great way to get your feet wet. The fuji bodies I recommend are the xt30II and the xe4 if you want to pair them with the voightlander pancake lenses. It keeps them pocketable and fun.

I totally feel you on the digital M bodies. Was shocked to hear how much the new m11’s were freezing up. like really? it’s not their first digital m. but i must say adapting the more important thing like the leica glass to more affordable bodies sounds very very intriguing. I have the Ricoh GRiiiX for photo and like that it’s pocketable so I sold my x100v but want a hybrid where I could video record long form, take action photos, and some street photos with minimal post processing in a small and portable body. Is that too much to ask the a7c ii lol

@@jaymills1720 it’s really just the samyang 24 and 35 f2.8 or the zeis 35 2.8 but that one is kinda old.

I would add for street photography, try the dr400 extended dynamic range mode in the fuji. The dr400 mode, in short, distributes the exposure more evenly thru the exposure of the images, removing the necessity of underexposing for highlights. It does this by requiring you to shoot at iso 640 or higher. This allows the camera to underexpose the hi lights of an image while boosting the mid tones and shadows…. basically what you eventually do in post if you underexposed your images. New subscriber here Can you also cover any film simulations recipes that you create? I hear that the film simulations can be tweaked and that there are websites dedicated to fujifilm recipes I don't own a X100VI so i am curious to see what you can create as far as film recipes with your new camera
