i can already tell [re]connect is gonna be on repeat for the rest of this week for me😅. just so much shit happening in the span of 4 minutes, i fucking love it so much.
This album is just so good man, been listening on repeat since friday, these riff are out of this world. If you've never check them, Resolve - Between the machine and me is 100% on your range and i'm sure you'll be blown away by it, even if it's out of cam

I didn't think Heavener was getting dethroned for AOTY but damn, this album front to back absolutely slapped and VoM is one of my favorite bands all time so I can't decide any more 😂

This album is not better than Heavener but it is really good. Heavener just feels completely cohesive and an album you run start to finish.

@@WindyCityNick I did say I can't decide after all, Heavener is amazing and surpassed all expectations, but Mother was definitely worth the 5 year wait in my opinion, both are amazing albums
I prefer older VoM with Brandon as the vocalist but I can safely say that this is the best album yet with Lukas.
Blown away by this album. Anticipating this to be an easy top 5 album of this year. Love the synths and the crazy riffs
this album is some of their best work in my opinion
this album is perfectly chaotic. and the metal drum&bass with disco kill party is something i didnt know i needed

Damn, man i need more DNB in metalcore, especially the Melodic Breakbeats... Unlike some fromjoy stuff, but something more melodic in a good way with djent and metalcore to it. Something like "Alone" by Nedaj, but metalcore would be fucking amazing i think. I hope Northlane reading this comment, please!
The riff of [re]connect fucking killed me, the whole song is fantastic. Disco Kill Party is the DNB Metalcore i've always needed. I can't wait for anybody to make a proper Breakbeat Metalcore, i would die for that. (fromjoy's recent release was too noisy for me ngl) Lost Creator and Death Runner both sound like a love letter to early Veil of Maya, which is incredible. I mean... Tokyo Chainsaw should be included in another Try Not to Headbang challenge(Impossible Edition) Mother Pt4 has got the most stunning chorus almost in the last part of the song. TIERLIST: S: [re]connect, Death Runner, Disco Kill Party; A+: Lost Creator, Artificial Dose, Tokyo Chainsaw; A: Red Fur, Mother Pt4, Synthwave Vegan; B: Godhead; I think it's easy 9/10 for me and instantly one of the AOTY contenders this year.
They need to keep producing bangers like this, their previous album was 7 years ago. Hopefully not wait that long again

I am gobsmacked that that insane riff in the middle of lost creator wasn't a highlight for you!
False Idol is still my favorite album from them but this album is great too
Not gonna lie, this is AOTY for me so far. It’s so heavy and chaotic, Marc is an absolutely riff god, and (controversial take) this is Lukas’ most impressive and diverse vocal performance in my opinion. Not a skip on it for me.

i knew this was going to be my top AOTY contender. there had a reason they took years to drop new material 🔥🔥🔥
It’s funny you mentioned Future Breed Machine because on this day (May 12th) 28 years ago Destroy Erase Improve was released. Funny how Meshuggah keeps inspiring new bands after all these years. I need to give this album a few more listens but I really enjoyed it on first listen.

@@DrewFortune97 didn’t notice the typo until the other comment mentioned it haha. I can’t find it anymore, but we’re talking about 1995 here. 28 years ago, not 18. Insane. And I gotchu Drew. Catch me in another 28 years dropping another fun fact about [m]other releasing back in 2023. 😂
Reconnect and disco kill party giving me matriarch vibes especially the chorus! Also loving Sam’s drumwork almost like keeping chaotically in-synch with Marc’s guitar work
I have only listened to it once (quickly) but man what an album. 🤯🔥🤘🏻 Definitely gonna be on repeat for a loooong time. Also, wish I had those guitar skills. He is not from this planet.
Dude every pic in your thumbnail is rigoddamndiculous haha
5:54 True!
Thanks for this react
Amazing album! My favorite so far!
Haven't heard it yet but good God so many albums today. VOM, Cattle Decap, Acacia Strain, Left to Suffer.
Marc puts stuff in his IG playing some of the riffs
Future breed machine is a mother
Needed a little more clean vocals for me, a little more melody. Otherwise, this was a filthy album.

His cleans make very chorus huge, mikasa is the best chorus ive ever heard
it's so weird hearing 2011 vildhjarta in songs nowadays
Every song is a banger, such a good album!
A lot of songs I need to hear a couple times to enjoy. Synthwave vegan and mother I didn't like on their release. But on 2nd lesson listen when the full album dropped I defo liked em a lot more

Yeah no I went into their older discography and just reeeeally wasn’t into 90% of their stuff tbh so I buggered off for a bit, but then this album came out……and I shit you not I haven’t listened to much of anything else since I found it. Like bro the track that got me hooked into the entire album was reconnect, legit the best song on the entire album for me along with lost creator and death runner
Dude you nailed the loath comparison in reconnect, by far my fav track!
Unbreakable is stilla song i hammer on. That lil diddy is such a heavy song
The last two songs on the album go absolutely crazy
Since Lukas joined they have become one of my fav
Reconnect is def my fav
"the measureye" got me thinking that it was Spencer singing
❤❤
easily my fav vom album
Ok Drew, it's time... Outsider, Viscera, and Outrun next.

It was kind of the opposite for me lol.
I was hoping the album would be more like red fur. Definitely some good songs but not my favourite album from them.
So basically I really like them because they are one of the few bands that brought me in to heavy music and even into playing guitar. But I waited 5 years to get something that I know is veil of maya but still do not seem new and fresh for me maybe a bit dull. I’m sure that’s the best album they’ve done but I’m kinda disappointed idk man it’s just the same problem with periphery. Or maybe I just grew out of it 😂
Missed the best part of lost creator
Some of these riffs were just not meant for the human body to process.
I try to like this band, but I can't.
I personally thought this album was weak. Great riffs but just rather underwhelming imo. VoM is one of my favorite bands but a song has to have more than good riffs.
I miss [ID] days...Veil of Maya with cleans just sounds wrong, especially when they're like post-hardcore cleans.

As already answered in previous VoM videos on Drew's channel by the very people that made the music videos, Spencer is one of the partners of the video and production team for the videos. Iirc he's actually part owner of the company (blvckbox studios). They were cameo's, not teasers.
I was a little disappointed by it, too much heavy for the sake of being heavy. No sense of direction alot of the time. False Idol is still by far their best for me. I feel like you’d like their old stuff a lot, like iD.

As crazy as this album sounds, I got kinda bored with it. After they released The Outsider and Members only, I was hoping the album would sound similar to those releases. The production on this album just irks me and makes it almost impossible for me to listen to. The choruses just don’t make an impact for me. I feel like the chuggy, shreddy, and scratchy sounds just get old for me real quick. Not enough variety on this record for me, and I’m over all a little underwhelmed and disappointed 😔.
Boy band choruses are just not for me. The cool parts are cool.
This album cements to me that False Idol is their only miss, though the production was largely at fault in that one.
