This is a light weight winch that is super popular with the Ultra4 crowd (and looking at the tolerance we are working with, it’s easy to understand why). It won’t have a ton of synthetic rope, but we’ll have a long tow strap on hand for longer pulls. The shorter length is why we aren’t that worried about having to freespool the winch during recovery.

This lift was not sponsored (nor was the Triumph lift we ordered from Amazon). I simply met Kip from Legend Auto Lifts while we were upgrading MischiefMaker’s new rear bumper at the MORR shop. He made some very valid points and I will absolutely go out of my way to support a small business like his AND support someone that supports my friends and fellow KZreadrs like Matt and Robby. The other lift found a new home in a private home garage by simply making a few phone calls, so switching to something made here in the US and locally sourced (and installed) was a super easy decision on our part. 😊

In our case, the building is brand new and we actually had conversations with both the general contractor who built the building and the property owner prior to signing our lease about the install of a 10-12,000# vehicle lift to make sure we had a minimum of 4000psi concrete and permission to install the lift. Beyond that, Kip, the installer was able to tell there is between 5.5-6 inches of depth with each of the holes he drilled, which is well beyond what is required for our 10,000# VLE10. I assume there are other ways to test the concrete when all the details aren’t as readily accessible as they were with our install. 😊

I am so jealous, I had a building put up with provisions for a lift. Contractor put in 1 foot thick concrete pads in the floor. Complete over kill. Ceiling height is 12 feet 3 inches and 220/240 volt isolated circuit in ceiling. I was getting a Challenger CL10V-DPC but Covid interfered. I was already stretching my budget and now it is out of my budget.
I love seeing all these Challenger Lifts being installed on KZread that are made in my hometown. Side question Hollie. I’ll be in Edinburgh Scotland for a couple of days in April, what’s the must see places?

Thanks Hollie. I can’t wait.
Just curious why can't you put a leaver to engage the free spool in the cab? then you can release it pull it out, then you can engage it as soon as it's hooked up instead of waiting for the other person to get back then thy can wait there remove it as soon as you finish pulling, coming along great, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Just make sure you can still get to the free spool lever. My remote went haywire where I can only winch in with the remote. Won't let me winch out.

How long a cable do you need for racing. That spool is a lot smaller than the ones used in recovery so I was wondering about how it’s used. I love how y’all waddle around in hyper lapse. KOH or Bust!

Hey Hollie, just binge watched all of the jeep build videos, way cool! What does Ian think about it so far? I wasn't going to Hammers this year but, now I need to see your rig in person! So I guess I'm going. Not much time left to "get yer done"! Do you need some help with anything?

This lift was not sponsored (nor was the Triumph lift we ordered from Amazon). I simply met Kip from Legend Auto Lifts while we were upgrading MischiefMaker’s new rear bumper at the MORR shop. He made some very valid points and I will absolutely go out of my way to support a small business like his AND support someone that supports my friends and fellow KZreadrs like Matt and Robby. The other lift found a new home in a private home garage by simply making a few phone calls, so switching to something made here in the US and locally sourced (and installed) was a super easy decision on our part. 😊

QUESTION ???????? Ive watched these lifts go in to Rudi's, Matts, Fab rats and now your shop.They bolt to the floor, how do they know the slab is thick enough and strong enough to hold the lift in place. Thet

All of the cool kids use Challenger Lifts, at least in Utah - lol. Obviously must be quality with so many using them. But I'm curious if the red was just an aesthetic thing, or if it's a different model than everyone else has been installing?
@MischiefMakerTV

I’m not sure what the others went with, but this lift is a VLE10, so it’s a 10K# lift with their versymmetric arms that can be use set up for symmetrical or asymmetrical use.
